Night Sights Hard to see at the Range...

I have a new Para PDA .45 and it has night sights which work great in the dark but on the dimly lighted range they are a bit hard to see.  ::)

I was thinking about putting a drop of white paint or something on top of the front sight just for something to focus on. Any suggestions.  :-\

I have started using a fiber optic front on a Glock that makes the front very visible.   In low light it would collect the light to be easier to see and in no light hopefully you'd be using a flashlight so it would still be bright.  Dawson Precision has fronts for Para's, about $40.

A bit of paint might help. Just don't get it on the dot. I have a pair of Williams M1911 FireSights on one of my Paras. They're $46.95 for the front and rear. The brighter the ambient light is, the brighter they glow, so they adjust to the amount of light they get. I've been looking for a new set of sights for my Glock 27. The Ameri-Glo night sights that are on it now has one of the rear sight 'dots' that is almost undetectable in darkness. The front and one rear are still good, but it aggravates the hell out of me and the sights on the link you provided might be the ticket.

For the Glock I highly recommend Warren Tactical sights.  You can get Tritium front/rear sets (with either two ]8[ or three dots

This is just a thought, I just have plain ole iron on my .45. But as I said, the thought crossed my mind, As JNevis said Fibre Optic sites gather ambient light, In NO light using a light it provides the ambient light for the FO sites, according to the OP night sites are only good in total dark. What good are sights if you can't see your target in the dark ?

I have 3 different sight set-ups on my .45s. Another one that works well for me is a plain rear and dot front. It doesn't matter if the dot is paint, tritium, or fiber optic. It draws your eye to the front sight where you should be focused anyway.

One small problem I forgot to mention with my FireSights is that the green rear dots look just slightly brighter than the red front dot. If you don't have the same type or degree of color blindness I have, it may look better to you.

If you still want night sights then check out truglo. They have fiber night sights but I don't think they make them for Para.
