Barb Wire Might Hurt Thieves
« on: October 11, 2008, 08:22:20 AM »
You just have to look to the British to see where we headed.

There are two red flags in this article.   The most obvious is that the gardener must take down the barbed wire to keep from hurting the thieves, but also notice the use of the term "allotment" in referring to the plot of land.   Pretty soon that's all we have is our "allotment" of land.

From Fox News:

“The council said they were unhappy about the precautions I had made but my response was to tell them that only someone climbing over on to my allotment could possibly hurt themselves,” Malcolm told the Mail. “They shouldn't be trespassing in the first place but the council apologized and said they didn't want to be sued by a wounded thief.”

Alf,

I read that article, too and wondered how people can live that way!  The bad guys have all of the rights and protection under the law!

There is NO DOUBT I would be in jail for defending my property or life.

Alf,
<snip>..The UK was once the mightiest Empire on the earth.  It is sad, disheartening and terrifying to see how far it has fallen.

We'll see how far down the same path we are the night of November 4, 2008.  The U.K. is decades ahead of U.S. in this...I sure hope we turn the corner and get back on our path as opposed to that of socialist Europe or some banana republic....or even New Orleans aka  Katrina.

We could be in for even more fun because we stress diversity over unity.  Our downfall, should it happen, will be more like a mixture of U.K., a banana republic and Rhodesia.  Show me one place in history where multiple cultures have lived in harmony without unity.

The house behind me is abandoned, courtesy of the housing bubble.  Thieves have been looting it. They removed the back doors and have stolen most of the appliances.  I'm sure the cabinets and bathroom fixtures are next.  There is a fence seperating my backyard and theirs.   I was considering putting barbed wire on top of my fence, so I checked with zoning.  The ofificer said as long as he doesn't see it, he doesn't care.  The problem is our area isn't zoned for barbed wire, so if someone gets hurt climbing over my fence, I'm liable.
About 15yrs ago, a business owner that was tired of being burgalarized put a stripped down bedspring on the floor of his shop by the windows and electrified it.  A guy broke in, got electrocuted.   The owner went to jail.

Didn't you say the former owner of the house behind you put up barbed wire on their side?

Get used to the new paradign if BHO is elected.

It's just a standard wood stockade fence.  I wanted to dress off the top with barbed wire.

We had a friend that had moved to the Cities, and one Halloween was having problems in their neighborhood with punks stealing and smashing Jack-O-Lanterns.  We concocted an idea, over a few cocktails, and loaned him a spare electric fencer and wire.  Now this ain't 220 volt stuff.  This is just the old every farm kid has grabbed on a dare or gotten his cousin to pee on through the brush.

He went home, rigged his kids masterpieces and went on about life.  The next weekend rolled around, and he heard a bunch of screaming outside.  Upon investigating he found one on the ground with slight damage and one just knocked over, everything else was fine.  Shortly there after the cops showed up.  After a lot of investigating, questioning and accusing, they left saying they really could not think of what to do.  The next week he received a letter from the City Attorney telling him to disconnect everything and turn it in.  The attorney's claim was that since he knew that kids were doing this, his set up was a trap intended to cause pain and suffering that was baited with Jack-O-Lanterns that he knew would attract "victims."

He did not turn over the fencer - He mailed it back to us, so that if they came searching for it they would not find it.  He left the wire in place, and even tried to make it as obvious as possible, and he decorated an old shoe box to replicate the appearance of the fencer.  He has also been known to take an old kitchen broom, paint the bristles brown and the handle black, and sit on the porch with it across his lap.  He has received visits from cops about both, but what can they do about him "decorating" for Halloween?

Haven't you ever heard of the old saying, People get the government they deserve, The English are complete Boneheads. This is what happens to the gene pool on an Island.

Have you ever looked at North and South America?  We're just one big island that was made smaller by the canal, and BHO's supporters are proving it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to small!
