Presidential Debate #3: McCain vs. Obama

I think Rastus' thread on this subject was pretty good and hopefully we can get some excellent discussion like what occurred.

My impression of the debate is I wonder where this version McCain has been. This has clearly been his best performance in terms of style and substance. But I'm not sure if it is enough. He has to be this way for the rest of the way, if he has a chance to win. It's time to let it all hang out!

My opinion is going to be tainted as a JM supporter.  I was glad to see his agressivness without going over the edge to attacks.  I liked when it went to the subject of the attack ads he admitted that people had slammed Obama and that he had refuted it, and when he asked BHO why he would not do the same, BHO would not even address it.

Is it too little too late ... who knows?

I wish or hope that someone will pick up on the snide looks and laughs that BHO made when McCain was speaking.  Pretty smug in my mind.  Actually it is that kind of smirk my father promised to smack off my face whenever I made it toward him or anyone.

McCain won that round, but he needed a KO to win the match and he did not get it.

It was McCain's best showing but that is not saying much but Obama held up.

However, McCain still didn't go after Obama and his far-out plans.  Obama's tax cut for non-taxpayers is ...WELFARE.  McCain does not seem to grasp that issue.

McCain could have talked about gun control and called out Obama's record but he didn't.  There are so mainly core issues that McCain can bring up but he just doesn’t do it.

This is now all about turn-out.  Can the NRA and NSSF and other 2nd amendment groups push McCain over the line?

My absentee ballot came in the mail today so I’ll probably vote this weekend.
