Haha...

Honestly, I'd like to see more state militias...

Current governor (d) won't approve the legislation to create a "State Guard" at NO COST to the state.
State militia's are fine if they are run by "We the people" but tend to descend into fascist thugs and "death squads" when run by the Gov.  Do you REALLY want to see" Kristalnacht" in America ?

I saw this before, but I just watched it again. A 'civilian  nationalsecurity force...just as powerful...just as strong...just as well funded (as the military)'. - B Obama

He's talking about a Federally controlled para-military police force. This is unacceptable. Do you think the state police, local sheriffs or police forces would actually collect weapons and arrest people who are currently law-abiding but may become felons with a stroke of Obama's pen? I doubt it. Most cops I know said they would never do this, and would consider it an unlawful order, violating our rights.

This is the group that would be doing the gun-grabbing, political intimidation, silencing of the critics. Yes, Brown Shirts. Actually, Black Shirts, as the would be 'just as powerful, just as well funded' as the military. And gee, The Fairness Doctrine is about to be re-imposed on private enterprises again.

I actually heard from my LEO friends that there were rumors of 'private police' being considered to do jobs the current police would refuse to do. I dismissed it as ridiculous until I started seeing the current atmosphere surrounding Obama.

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

Update: Georgia Congressman weighs in on the Obama Gestapo

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iRxZox4GFoIweckPDP1oRhKBlHOwD94CDDM80

Quote
WASHINGTON (AP) — A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist dictatorship.

"It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he's the one who proposed this national security force," Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. "I'm just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may — may not, I hope not — but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism."

"That's exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it's exactly what the Soviet Union did," Broun said. "When he's proposing to have a national security force that's answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he's showing me signs of being Marxist."

Broun said he believes Obama would move to ban gun ownership if he does build a national security force.

Obama has said he respects the Second Amendment right to bear arms and favors "common sense" gun laws. Gun rights advocates interpret that as meaning he'll at least enact curbs on ownership of assault weapons and concealed weapons. As an Illinois state lawmaker, Obama supported a ban on semiautomatic weapons and tighter restrictions on firearms generally.

"We can't be lulled into complacency," Broun said. "You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I'm not comparing him to Adolf Hitler. What I'm saying is there is the potential of going down that road."

We wont need a CDF if they keep sending in troops, OBTW there is a great article on the Bho plan here also, just found this site thanks to Wenger.
As Big Brother Prepares to Assume Command…: Northcom
has announced that two more U.S. military units will
be assigned for domestic homeland security missions,
bringing the total number of combat ready service
members operating inside the U.S. to around 4,700, as
fears grow about the increasing militarization of law
enforcement. The announcement follows the controversy
surrounding a September 8 Army Times report (revised
on September 30), which revealed that the 3rd Infantry
Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, fresh from combat
duties in Iraq, would be operating inside America for
tasks including “civil unrest and crowd control,” a
detail that was later denied by Northcom despite the
concession that forces would be armed with both
non-lethal and lethal weapons as well as having access
to tanks…

Poconos gun dealers see hike in sales; customers fear tighter laws under Obama

By Beth Brelje
Pocono Record Writer
November 12, 2008

Pennsylvanians are "clinging to their guns" more tightly since the election of Barack Obama. Gun and ammunition sales are way up according to local dealers.

"We absolutely have seen an increase. We've more than doubled our normal sales of guns and ammunition," said Jere Dunkelberger, owner of Dunkelberger's Sports Outfitter in Stroudsburg. He says the emphasis is on home and self-protection weapons.
Related Stories

Dunkelberger noticed gun sales shot up about four days before the election. "Election day it cooled off a little bit. Since then, we've been very busy," he said.

Same thing in Brodheadsville, where American Sport Shooting owner Richard Flynn has seen an 80 percent increase of gun sales starting a week before the election. "People are stockpiling ammunition too," Flynn said.

And it goes beyond Pennsylvania. "We have seen the same anecdotal evidence across the country. This trend began in the weeks leading up to the election," said National Rifle Association spokesperson Ashley Varner.

The rush to arms is based on fear of restrictions an Obama's administration may put on gun ownership, plus taxes that could be placed on ammunition.

"The other thing that has people concerned is talk of a civilian security force equally funded as the military. Run by him, I guess. We see that as the Gestapo," Flynn said.

In a July 2 speech, Obama told a crowd, "We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded." With an Obama White House on the horizon, some are reacting to campaign speeches like that by purchasing guns.

"The Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting. It is about being able to protect ourselves against a government gone bad, which is what we have now," Flynn said. "When a president wants to set up his own national army, that alarms people."

Those worried about restrictions to the Second Amendment often refer to a 1999 article in the Chicago Defender newspaper that lists a host of gun restrictions Obama said he was in favor of and says, "Obama is also seeking to increase the federal taxes by 500 percent on the sale of firearm, ammunition — weapons he says are most commonly used in firearm deaths." At time, Obama did not have the power to make such a move.

"It is fair to say, when looking at Obama's record in Illinois and the U.S. Senate, he has a history of supporting increased gun control measures," said Varner of the NRA.

Varner said that an increase in gun sales has been seen at other times when officials supporting stricter gun laws have been voted into office.

"Most of us in the industry feel that he is going to cripple the gun industry. This is a bad precedent for us. We're not very happy," Flynn said.

Gun control advocates say a little restriction would make the streets safer and would be harmless to gun enthusiasts.

"Let's look to Hurricane Katrina. Government agents were going door to door, beating on doors, asking if they had guns, and taking them away," said Varner. "It has happened in recent history. Let's not say it could never happen."

Great song too. At least in my opinion.

The album is great too! I remember getting the CD when it came out then and remember thinking how they were fresh and unique for the genre of music they played. I did have to overlook some of their socialist lyrics on some other tracks though; but that seems to be the case for a lot of Rock's more well known bands.....
