I Couldn't Believe My Ears

 I'm torn between feeling like a traitor and being betrayed  :-[

I think you all understand that I feel like one of the strongest defenders on here of the guys on Tier One.

You all know how I like all types of shooting and all kinds of weapons whether they go bang or not, and that I will defend all these guys.

Tonight, on the new Impossible Shots that great retired Hennepin County Parks worker, known as Mr. Knapp to most of you, stacked up a bunch of clay birds, picked up a Marlin .22lr, and then he did it ... I couldn't believe my ears ... he put in a ... a ... a ... loaded ... a loaded ... a full "clip"  :-[

I've heard him say it before.  Guy's a moron, great shooter, but a moron.
All tipoes and misspelings are copi-righted.  Pleeze do not reuse without ritten persimmons  :D

I don't know that I would call him a moron.  Let's look at his life:  Government job with average pay, good benefits and great retirement plan; Great shooter that builds his reputation while it is still an after hours hobby;  Did I say Government job that allows early retirement with great pay; Student of the great exhibition shooters of the past; Voice of an announcer and ego as big as the ranges he shoots on; And the mind of a salesman and promoter (how he ended up in a Government job I'll never know).

I don't think he's a moron, but I would not rule out frost bitten brain from cleaning park restrooms in downtown Minneapolis in January.

That's funny..."clip". I could watch Knapp shoot the breeze and shoot other stuff all day long. His voice is like the narrator in the old Disney shows...lulls me right back to some comfy spot. PLUS he shoots the crap out of everything. I particularly enjoy it when he shoots the aspirin with the 22.

In the music biz we call that a "clam". You're going along playing a tune and all of a sudden your finger is on the WRONG NOTE...that's a clam.
Hey, maybe he'll do a show where he throws up a bushel of cherrystones and blasts them out of the air.

Met him at a shot this summer in Jerome Idaho... his shooting ability is fun to watch but him - NOT IMPRESSED - not one bit.

Methinks that we should be worried about the upcoming gun ban, instead of a fellow shooter like Tom Knapp who accidentally called a magazine a clip. Hmm...problems with gun-culture lexicon or the dissolution of our country---which is more pressing?

We ain't worried about his vocabulary miscues.  We just enjoy the entertainment when DRTV Sergeant at Arms HazCat corrects the situation.  After a little educational entertainment we go back to work.

Everyone seems to be calling magazines .. clips..  last gunshow I went to I had several dealers.. calling magazines clips..  ???  It's not right and there is a difference... but at the same time if everyone knows what part of the gun you are talking about.. does it really matter?  ...    I say again..Does it really matter?   as noted.. I think we should be more worried about "The Right to Keep and Bear Arms", rather than small technicallities. It's not like we can teach the average person "correct gun vocabulary" lessons. I would just be happy that they liked guns and used them.. further helping gunowners everywhere..
