Very good story of men that not only are remembering their past, but that are making history available to all.

Sign me up! I wish there was good audio of those Packard engines spooling up,when the turbo's kick in, it is an amazing sound.

I'd work on that boat for free rather than the cocktail makers that float around here.

Great video.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Great video.  My Uncle served on a PT boat in WW 2 but I never discussed the war with him and my Dad wouldn't say too much either.  Wonder if he knew any of those guys?

I saw that a few weeks ago.  I had seen that boat a lot when I was in High School.  It was on the bottom of the channel in Alameda near where my Sea Scout unit's AVR (short PT, Aviation Rescue) was berthed.  There was amine sweeper of similar vintage a hundred yards down channel in the same condition.  They both disappeared and I'd alsways wondered where they ended up.

When I was a kid there were two party boats (day-trip fishing for you land-lubbers) in our harbor that were old PT boats. I loved PT boats as a kid. Later, one of several tour boats was a new boat made to look like a restored PT - they called it the PT 109 and took tourists flying around the island in it. They even made the exhaust loud so that it was pretty authentic.

I know it's silly, but I also grew to love PT boats when I was a kid by watching McHale's Navy.

I also grew up with McHale's Navy, and remember a few war movies with the PT boats.  While doing time in the Land of Fruit and Nuts I learned that many of the boats stationed there were converted to private luxury boats after decommissioning.  I do remember the thrill when I heard the engines of a real PT boat though.  I had learned these boats had wimmpy engines based on the sound from McHale's Navy and other movies, but the real thing was better than the sound of Top Fuel at the 1/4 mile!

Great video and boat.  Rode in one in mid 60's while on a tour of  the island of Hawaii.  It was being used as a tour boat.  Being on the boat was better than the tour.
