MB Any chance for a Crimson Trace for the SR9?
« on: November 16, 2008, 04:28:56 PM »
I've got a SR-9 that is great, even after the recall, and I want to put Crimson Trace laser-grips on it...but they don't make them! They make them for practically every other Ruger handgun! What gives? Did the SR9 flop so badly that no-one is going to make accessories? Mr. Bane, do you have any suggestions?

I have sent your question to CT's marketing division.

Try the LaserMax that fits on the rail. I have one on my XD and the interior one on my P220. I am not as enamored with the CT laser grip on my P226 -- it makes the grip larger/thicker and feels like a Glock, too big for me.

I thought about that, even putting on a green laser, but I like the idea of a grip-activated laser a lot...

SJ...they had a booth set up at Wannamachers.  I wish you had posted this earlier I could have asked them along with the other question I asked.  They have some great stuff being developed coming down the pike so they don't appear to be resting on their laurels.  I suspect that anything for a polymer pistol without removable grips will be a bit like the Glock CT systems...but the SR9 does have the changeable backstrap should minimize the design a bit.

I think they can make something that replaces the backstrap and wraps around to the frontstrap, with an activation button on the front. I can picture that.

I am STILL kicking myself for not getting to Wanenmacher's! I went hunting instead!

I was also thinking that the backstrap that is removable would also help the design...

How about making a laser  that would fit in place of the guide rod like they do for the glock??????? Then there would be no problems with it fitting in a holster, I would really hate to have to buy another holster for mine...

Lane Tobiassen at Crimson Trace informs me that the SR-9 is on their list of possible models, but at this time it hasn’t made it to the top.
