Mr Bane, a humble request
« on: November 17, 2008, 01:13:44 AM »
I know a lot of people want stuff around here, books, giveaways, a photo-shop of the Marshal'ette in the catwoman outfit (oh wait, scratch that).

ANYHOO, what I want is not for myself, nay but for the myriad thousands of my fellow H&K/CETME/PTR owning brothers. I know that you Michael, you who's thumb rests firmly on the pulse of the shooting industry, you who holds the ear of the mavens of the shooting industry, you how has shaped the very foundations of the shooting world, you, and ONLY YOU can do this for us Mr Bane.

Get someone to make a US built Namibian H&K stock set. Now I know that you do not need one so lowly as I to educate you, but others might read this and become confused, so I enclose a link to the ARS website with the picture;

Mark the gun plumber has one, or access to one to use as a pattern.

You can do this Michael Bane, just as only Nixon could go to China, only you can do this for us. I beseech you, in the name of all that is holy, do this for us.

Thank You,
Warhawke

I haven't seen those before. Is anything different besides the drop at the comb?

Getting ANYTHING done in a sentence that includes the words "H-K" is like trying to melt a glacier with a propane torch!

Getting the company who's motto is
"Because you suck, and we hate you"
was never in the cards, but I don't want them, they would make it bigger with bits of glass in it so they could call it "Tactical"

I was hoping to get an aftermarket maker to do it, after all, SOMEBODY is making STOCKS for EBR's, we just need them to stop making the 1,473rd different version of the AR-15 stock and get them to make these instead. Heck, the people who make aftermarket FN stocks would be perfect given the fact that the Namibian buttstock was originally made by using the pattern from the South African R1A1 buttstock. I would add that I know a hundred people RIGHT NOW that would pay good money to buy a set (or four or five) for their H&K/CETME/PTR's.

Jumbofreak;
The stock is longer, thicker and the buttpad area is much larger. Just putting one of these bad boys on an H&K will half the felt recoil, to say nothing of moving your face back to prevent getting smacked in the face by the ass-end of the receiver. One of the surplus outfits got the ones in storage in S.A. back in the late '80's and sold them off for $150 a set, today you are looking at $500 a pop, IF you can find one.

I was hoping that was a mistake, Warmonger;)  LOL. Believe me, I've been called a lot worse, Hawke. You probably have too. I didn't think I deserved it this time but I try to roll with the punches. Now I'm going to try on my Freudian slip.  :o

Frank

P.S. I was wondering what the plane in your avatar was but the name gave it away. Duh.  ::)  I couldn't tell it from a P-51 Mustang or anything else in the small pic.

A totally off topic comment to Frank, You can identify the particular model of P 40 by the size of the air scoop, smaller air scoop later model. This applies ONLY to stock aircraft not the ones modified for racing.
