Mmmmmm, murrrder.  :P  I'm going to eat at a German restaurant today. They don't know how to cook a steak, so the cows are safe for now. I might eat a chicken or two instead.

Yeager Schnitzle (pounded veal in mushroom gravy) with Spatzle (noodles), YUM!

Schnitzel is actually a pig's butt unless you get Viener schnitzel, then it's veal. They don't make very good ham in Germany so they slice the pig's butt thin, pound it, bread it and fry it. Yum indeed.

I get two free chicken dinners in October for my birthday, one at each of two restaurants, and my mom gets two in November so we eat out 4 times. I went into the place across the street from this one last week thinking I was going to have jaeger schnitzel, my favorite meal of all time, but instead I got the BAVARIAN COMBINATION PLATE; Kasseler Rippchen (Smoked Pork Loin), Schnitzel (Breaded Loin of Pork), and Sauerbraten (Marinated Beef) with Potato Cheese Puffs, Baked Dressing, and Sauerkraut. The meat was, as my ex used to say, as tender as your eye. It was darned tasty too. No vegan meals for me.

They have a wusrt combination plate and some other goodies like that too but are famous for all you can eat family style chicken dinners will all the trimmings. The buttered noodles have crumbled cheez-it crackers or something like that on them. Every dinner comes with home-made bread and jam and chicken noodle soup and a few salads as appetizers. 3 hours until I go stuff myself again. I can hardy wait.

Yep. That'll be $20.99 plus tip and shipping. It's getting down to 29 degrees here tonight so it should still be good if I overnight it.  ;)

This is abosolutly retarded  >:(.  Before my father, my family's main income has been farming and ranching. Now my dad and my uncle still ranch, but they have to also work steady paying jobs to make a decent living since we don't have a big enough ranch to bring in enough income.  Plus the only reason that I'm going to college is so I can save up enough money to buy my own land, equipment, and add on to my herd.  So if this thing goes through that means that I would have to work a steady paying job for longer before I would be ranch full time.  That is if I would be able to at all, because I'm pretty sure that most of the small, private ranches would probably be put out of buisness.  And do these people think that if they can shut down ranches that livestock will simply quit reproducing and "releasing harmfull gasses."  :P   Sorry that just gets on my nerves,  thanks for letting me vent.

Message for HazMat the Psychic Cat  ;)

Today's dinner was Pan Fried Pork Schnitzel with Wild Forest Mushrooms - Tender slices of pork loin dusted with flour, pan-fried to a golden brown and topped with wild forest mushroom gravy, and melt-in-your-mouth oh-so-yummy buttered spaetzle (German egg dumplings) in chicken broth. In other words, Jaeger Schnitzel and spaetzel, just like you said, Haz. I didn't even know they had that on the menu!!! One of the mushrooms was a Morel. I believe it's the only one I've ever had in my whole life. I decided to pass on this month's special, roasted half duckling for it. So, somewhere there's a pig with 3 slices missing, and if anyone releases harmful gasses into the environment it'll be me, not the pig. I had my 2 German meals for the year, now it's back to American, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, ...

Nupe, you can vent all you want. Just don't ask me to pull your finger.  ;D  I guess you have to work 8 hours a day at your regular job then 16 hours a day on the ranch. Most of the family farmers have already been driven out of business and the ranchers are next. I hope you make it, as we need all the independant farms and ranches we can get.

I thought it was supposed to be government OF the people, BY the people. It doesn't really work that way does it? Too much meddling where they have no business IMO. And if I can't afford beef I'll take an old nag or something else instead. There's too much carnivore blood in my system to give up meat now.
