CIF - Cosmetically Incorrect Firearms
« on: November 21, 2008, 03:25:01 PM »
[As I posted on another blog and taking a cue from MB's blog]

I here by declare that I will no longer use the term "assault weapon" or "AW" (or AWB).  Hereafter those weapons which, due to their unconventional appearance, are the object of potential regulation will be referred to as:

Cosmetically Incorrect Firearms  or CIF

CIFB  will be used to refer to  any legislation designed to ban or regulate CIFs

Will work for ammo
USAF MAC 437th MAW 1968-1972

Cosmetically Incorrect Cosmetically challenged Firearms

I disagree, E.  They're only 'challenged' if you don't like them or if they are somehow 'less than perfect or normal'.

If you want to keep the AR designation, it is an all-purpose rifle or maybe an American Rifle.

I've been using "Utility rifle " to cover the whole range of multi purpose long guns.

Or you can't shoot 'em straight.
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

Dambit! I just CIFed my SKS. What ever have I done? This rifle was a peaceable means of skill and enjoyment on the weekends. Does this mean my rifle will now wreck havoc in US cities?  Whatever have I done? It's sackcloth and forced MSNBC remediation for me.
