.......I would hate to be a Secret Service agent about now. And ......

I think it would be a great time to be an agent now. When Joe Assassin comes along I would have to stumble while I was trying to protect 'the man'. Oops - sorry about that, I meant to take that one for you.  :)

I hope he makes it safely thru his term with no attempts on his life!  I don't like the man or what he stands for but I want him to be remembered for what he did or didn't do not as a martyr!!!!!!!

Agreed.

Though I would add that it would be nice for he and Pelosi, et. al., to solidly take the economy down a notch or two below where we currently are and to prolong the misery long enough to move that depression era yellow dog stance solidly into a blue dog stance.  I would also hope that RINO's would go along with him so they can be seen for the "Dem Lites" they really are and move their sorry behinds over to the left side of the room.  Failing or supplanting that, an initiative to subsidize a move of liberals to Europe or other environs is also desireable; I would not mind a tax increase dedicated to moving libs to where they are appreciated.

Amen to that brother - hard times, but at least some of us are prepared to weather through it.

If that (the economy) does happen it will be spun so that BHO inherited Bushs' mess and "did all he could and without his leadership it would have been much worse".

Then if a R comes in and gets it right it will be because BHO already had it fixed it just needed time to take effect.

If in 2 years, the Rs take over congress and it gets fixed it will be BHOs 'bipartisan' sucess.

Sorry, there is no way we win.

Haz, gotta disagree with you in part on this one.  I think you underestimate the selfishness and greed of the average American..they did, after all, vote for a complete idiot over an old RINO.  If oil prices go back up it won't matter what BHO does....I'd like to see 4 years of generally poor economy for the BHO supporters which actually starts getting better the last 6 months because of a conservative (not Republican) congress followed up with strong 2nd Ammendment president (Palin?).  That may pull us out.

A longshot and a dream.  I really think it will continue to deteriorate over the next 40-50 years if it doesn't boil over before then.  There has been so much socialistic indoctrination in the schools I wonder that the next generation can get it right and if the knowledge of freedom can be recovered without generations of socialist/marxist enslavement.

Just have to look back at the Hoover administration in 1929 for the historical perspective, we wound up with that (to quote my Great Grand Father ) "Damn communist Roosevelt" for 4 terms and a world war.
Great Grand Dad was right to, FDR's economic policies and meddling delayed recovery and set the stage for todays culture of "entitlement".
