AWB/Veto/Rumors
« on: November 22, 2008, 09:26:52 PM »
Forgive me if this has been touched on, but I've been out of touch most of the week ...

I've heard rumors that there is a plan to push the AWB through before the year end deadline.  The purpose of this is so President Bush could veto it.  What I have heard is that this would be the third veto, and the bill could not be brought up again for a number of years.

I have heard of this, but I am not sure if the rumor is true or the bill is to that point.

Any comments or words of wisdom (how's that for stretching the imaginations of this group)?

I have never heard of a "three veto" restriction but I can find out if it actually exhists.

I've never heard of that provision either. And, remember, GWB did say he would sing sign an AWB if one came to his desk.

Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.
