Daschle Dog
« on: November 23, 2008, 08:06:57 AM »
I've got a young guy at work, generally conservative, who makes excuses for and admires Tom Daschle (Daschle Dog).  I was aghast and shocked to find his family is from Daschle Dog's state and excuses him as intentionally saying one thing to garner votes then intentionally doing something else because he was only deceiving the "wee ones".

Help here.  It's been a while; my brain dumped the disgusting Daschle chronicles and I need a hit list of disagreeable things he did that disenfranchised the rest of the country (besides being a gun grabber).

People around Aberdeen - where Daschle is from - generally like the guy, he poured millions of tax dollars into his hometown - not the state. When you drive on US 12 from MN to Aberdeen, about ten miles outside town the normally a 2-lane road opens up into a huge 4-lane highway like an interstate. Then on the west side, same thing - 4-lane for a short distance, then back to 2. Every time I've been on it there have been maybe a dozen cars or so outside of twon. Complete waste of money.

Daschle always sided with the libs in DC, never really represented the state he was from, other than to throw them a bone or two occasionally, backing a farm bill and the like. But he is a local boy with a good spin machine. Like the mopes we keep re-electing from ND - all libs in training, Conrad and Dorgan in particular make a big deal of getting pictures on the ranches or in the soybean fields but always kowtow to the left coasters and DC denizens. At least Pomeroy gets an A rating from the NRA.

Best question is to ask what Daschle did for SD - other than the highway and jobs for his family and friends. Ask what he did for the Pine Ridge reservation inhabitants to ease their poverty and suffering? You will find lots of window dressing and very little of substance - unless it was contrary to the best interests of the SD citizens.

Living where we do we have a lot of family and friends in SD.  Our church camp is in SD, and we have been active on the board.  Daschle is no better than Obama!  He will say and do anything to be popular.  He is like the rich kid in school that bought his friends with treats and toys.  Daschle will say anything and do anything to get his way, then he will turn around and be what he really is.

On that happy post I will go back and check on the Franken/Coleman recount.  Things aren't going well enough for Franken or the local media, so they are predicting that the election will be determined by the rejected ballots.  Not going well enough means that Coleman still has a 180 vote lead, and it isn't disappearing fast enough to give the comedians hope it will go away.

We all knew Daschle is slime.  I wish I could send him a letter congratulating him on being two-faced.

Was he so arrogant to believe he was above it all....OK...don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.

I don't remember what exactly he did for/to our state, but what I do remember is that he was like most DC politics.  Willing to do favors for people that would give him lots of money and other extras.  At the time that he was senator for SD I was young enough that I didn't pay a lot of attention to politics.  But I do still have my "Get Rid of Your STD, Senator Tom Daschle" T-shirt.
