The Transformers movie is great. Michael Bay did his thing and Napalmed Everything. LOTS of action, funny one liners, and very nastalgic for me. At one point early in movie Ms. Tex looked over an said "this movie is great, I didnt think I would like it" ....... she got a big ol' shhhhhush from me!  ;)

I watched Shooter last night. It was based on Stephen Hunter's Point of Impact -- great book for a gun guy. The movie was good for a gun guy too. The story was changed to bring it into a more current setting. Gunny Bob Lee Swagger in the book was a Vietnam vet. In the movie he was a vet from some imaginary Horn of Africa affair. So the rifles were more current and interesting as well. You should like it.

I would hope to see more of Hunter's books in film. Especially when shown as the period pieces they were written to be.

Way of the Gun is one of my all-time favorite movies. The opening scene with Sarah Silverman kills me everytime.
What about Jesse "The Body" Ventura in the original Predator movie?

tex,
It was not a Black Hawk Down affair in the Shooter movie. You need to see the movie. It is a good B movie with lots of good sniper action and explosions.
Have you read any of Hunter's books? They are all good.

It was my poor crack at a joke but............ anyway have been trying to make time because I own the movie and have yet to sit down and watch it. Its still in its wrapping somewhere.  :-[  As for the Hunter books , others have recommended this author and I will have to look into some of them after this years bowling pin season is over. So i am making a future must read check list if there are some better then others which you would recommend. NO MATTER IF THE DOWNFALL OF CIVILIZATION COMES .......... next I am reading "All Night Radio" ASAP.

"next I am reading "All Night Radio" ASAP."

I finished All Night Radio last week while away at a training course.
Very entertaining, good characters, nice twists.
I picked up an autographed copy at B&N out of print website. I guess "Laura" needed the cash.

We can expect the next novel to be available when?

Hell in the Pacific
-A shot-down American pilot finds his way to a small, unpopulated island where he hopes to find provisions. He soon discovers that he is not alone; there is a Japanese officer marooned on the island also

Its and old one 1968 but Lee Marvin is great watch the alt ending
