Being a NRA member, is not enough...
« on: November 24, 2008, 12:44:38 AM »
This is not a thread about being a NRA member, nor is it a NRA bash.   This is simply a numbers thread.

For the price of a NRA membership, you could mail off 75 letters.

There are ~ 4 mil NRA members

There are 535 members of congress.

If every NRA member wrote 75 letters to thier Reps, they would send 300 mil letters.

Each member of congress would recive 560747 letters every year.

So get off your butt and send your reps a letter.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Good point, also, join your STATE organization, (Yes TAB, when I lived out there I belonged to CRPA ;D ) write letters to the Editor, not just your local paper, but any Media outlet  you are aware of that is printing miss information. To steal from Tom Gresham, Adopt a "No shrug " policy when you hear anti gun comments or wrong information being given DO NOT shrug it off as "more stupid liberals", address the misinformation, do not let wrong information go unchallenged, Tom Gresham is saying it now but it was originally credited to Hitler, "A lie left unchallenged becomes the truth"
MB in the latest podcast, again mentions a conversation he had with a "Gay Rights" activist who told him the secret is to "get out of the closet and into the streets", there are MILLIONS of law abiding gun owners, we need to make a noise that can neither be missed or ignored !

emails are free....

During the whole amnesty thing, congress had to shut down their email because the server could not handle all the traffic...... it got the point across and amnesty died a slow and painful death.

Good post TAB!

Great point Tab. We all need to do these things and more because let's face it, many millions of us are going to be silent no matter what happens.  >:(

We all need to do a little more!

The perverts are out of the closet and in the streets with their pride parades, gun owners aren't doing parades. parades. Why not?

We have responsibility to our families to provide....thusly we work so we do not lose our jobs?  If true does this mean say something about a choice we have made?

You do have a point there Rastus, second shift keeps me from attending city council meetings, but a division of labor is possible, day workers attending night things and night workers doing daytime stuff. Also bear in mind that Blacks DIED for THEIR rights, I highly doubt gun owners would face anything as severe as LYNCHING for taking a day off work to picket a newspaper or attend a legislative hearing.

I agree we must work to support our families. What I have found in my reading is that homos on average earn a higher household income than the general population, and they still have time to push their agenda on the rest of us.
