I think you pretty much summed up the prob with the sd/ccw commuinty.   That being that if you don't have a gun, you can't defend yourself.  If you really have that mind set I highly doubt you will be able to defend yourself with a gun.

You would be surprised at how many people who carry a gun are not really prepared to use it if the SHTF.

So what's the best non-gun defense against a large caliber assault booger with a high capacity feeding mechanism?
