Brady Bill - 15 years today
« on: November 30, 2008, 08:47:12 PM »
Sarah just took time to write me (rub it in) that 15 years ago today, Bill Clinton signed the Brady Bill.  And of course she's anticipating some new gun control measures to be signed by the new President.

I take that as a reminder that all of us to need to remain ever vigilant.

You know, the only good thing that has ever come out of the Brady bill or any future Obama bill, is that the guns you own now will suddenly become worth more than what you paid for them. But then again, Obama will probably charge capital gains tax on the difference between what you paid for your 'weapon of  terrorists and criminals' and what it's worth.
From my cold dead hands...to my next of kin to further our rights.

Never to the government. They can buy their own.

I won't write her for two reasons.   The first has to do with teaching a pig to sing.  And the second is I like her keeping me appraised of her latest tactics and strategies.   I'm afraid if I wrote her with my true feelings she'd quit writing.

That is not the way I want my guns to appreciate, but I get your point.

Actually, such silliness has been proposed.  That is counting unrealized income (appreciation of value) in computing Adjusted Gross Income.   So you'd pay income tax based on yearly appraisal of your major assets (house).   Of course, they wouldn't let probably wouldn't let you count depreciation as a deduction.   The IRS, regardless of whose administration, is constantly thinking of new ways to increase their revenues.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Brady shot with a  22 wheel gun?

Maybe we should ban those and leave the EBR alone... they are clearly more dangerous... ::)

Yep, RG Industries .22 snubbie.  That fact help jump start the 'Saturday night special' talk.

BTW I have the exact same gun!

Just goes to show - a mouse gun isn't worth anything! It has caused many problems that a real gun would have solved!  ;D

Except that Ronald Maximus would have died as well.
