Decocker\safety question

This is kinda an add on to the thread I started before. But thought maybe this is something on its own.

I was wondering, mostly about the CZ 75BD, if you have a decocker on a handgun can you still carry in Condition 1. Cocked and Locked.

I know the Beretta has no Condition 1 persay. You cant just put the safety on in single action if you engage the safety you are dropping the hammer.

I thought I read an article on time where a Gunsmith made a Sig able to carry cocked and locked. Added a manual safety. as well as having the Decocker. Is there such a gun or system available. Cause I know one of the good things about the CZ is you can carry condition 1 on the regular 75B

I'm no expert but I've owned an model 92.  It has a decocker for safety and a hammer block to prevent droping the hammer on the firing pin.  Having no slide lock, I would not and never did carry without first dropping the hammer with the decocker.   Don't know about the CZ but if it's a similar design, there is nothing to prevent firing if the hammer drops either from accidental trigger pull or any other jarring of the hammer that releases the sear.

A 1911 has several devices to prevent discharge when the pistol is "cocked and locked" and once your confortable with it, it's not a problem.  They are not for everyone.  I would never carry a 1911 with the hammer down on a live round, NEVER!  Just not a good practice....read an article recently where a poor fella put a rather large hole in his ass from an accidental discharge while carrying that way, good thing he had it tucked in the middle of his back rather than down the front....

No on the cocked and locked on the CZ with a decocker, 1/4 cock and you have double action and they say if you drop it it won't fire. No safety on the BD or the P 01 just decocker and carried at 1/4 cocked. Hope that answers your question.

i love the decocker option,however on a sa-da pistol,that way you dont need to carry cocked and locked.
