22LR conversion
« on: December 30, 2008, 06:49:25 PM »
Hi guys. Quick question, I want to try out a 22 LR conversion on a glock 19.
I found two possibles. Advantage arm or Ciener 22 conversion kits.
If any one has any advice on these or another kit,Please give me a heads up.

thanks
JAY

Just buy a dedicated .22 pistol instead. You will have a much better shooter and it will in turn yield much better practice.

Thanks ericire12

But I live in a commie state and a new pistol is easier said than done.
I have two 22 rifles and want to give the pistol a try.

Jay I feel for ya, my feedback on Ceiner is very negative on the glock, I've owned 2 for 1911 and they did work pretty well and were decently accurate, 2 1/2" at 25 yards. The negativity on the glock is failure to feed, failure to eject, if the round makes it into the chamber it will go bang.

On the advantage, I hear better news, but not great, some work some don't, I have not dealt with them directly, but their customer service has to be better than ciener, I'd call him a d**k, but that's part of a man and it has a head on it. ;) His customer service has a well earned reputation for abysmal and he is arrogant. I was complimenting him at the shot show for his 1911 conversion and how well it shot, He asked what kind of groups I was getting, and I said 2 1/2" at 25, and he said you must not know how to shoot, it should shoot an inch all day. >:( Here is a little clue for everybody, if you can shoot an iron sight pistol into 2 1/2" at 25 yards as a rule, and these were 10 round groups, you can probably shoot an inch if the pistol is capable. Off the bench of course. I hate to recommend the 1911 conversions due to the man, not the product.

I have an Advantage for my G17 with about 1k rounds through it with only a rare feed using the recommended Mini-Mags.  Nothing like for working on the fundamentals.  You can shoot twice as many rounds at half the price.
