Got a question about an AR purchase and the coming AWB. Lets say Jim Shepard is right about the Dems in Congress fast tracking an AWB. How fast can the bill get through both houses of Congrss and to BHO?

My FFL has an AR in the shop for me. Gun is paid for, but have not taken possession of the rifle yet. No NICS check yet. Bill of sale is written. I am out of town until late Jan on business. Will pick it up when I return.

Question, if a bill is forced through and signed before the end of Jan, can my dealer transfer me the AR? I know this is an odd question, but i do not want to get homeaand my dealer not be able t o transfer me a rifle becasue of the assholes in DC. I would be very pissed if that happened.

Anyone know about the above? Is everything shut down the day the bill is signed?
(i am going on the assumptioon that the Dems will win the AWB fight.)

Relax, take a deep breath.....IMHO nothing is going to happen in January. I don't think that a new admin is going to focus on an AWB right out of the shoot. If they do, there are lots of blue dog democrats and real republicans that will put  up a fight. On top of that, it would have to go thru both houses then the conference on the bill and then be signed. Plus it would most likely have a day of enactment in the bill set at some time in the future.

I am sorry but I see folks being driven into a frenzy over this stuff and I think it is down right a shame. I am a bit more cynical than most. I believe a huge part of it is pure industry bs to drum up more business (this Buy Buy Buy crap), and the other part is black helicopter stuff. Be realistic in your assessment of the situation.

Would not an executive order by-pass the approval barrier?   And as far as black helicopters,  when gps came out , people said the gov would track us with it.  Can't they track our cell phones, and don't they want to put gps in our cars to tax road usage?

I don't know about the "road usage " issue you mentioned, but the Govt. can indeed track you by your cell phone. Not only that but intelligence agencies ate capable of remotely activating not only cell, but land line phones as well, for use as microphones for purposes of surveillance.

I could get all worked up also over the various "issues" that some folks focus on. But as I said I am a cynic. I don't believe most people. I don't trust most people. There are lots of folks who ONLY care about their agenda. I also realize quite honestly that there are lots of folks with mental problems. Now don't go ballistic on me, I am not accusing anyone here of being nuts. But some of these issues are ones started by folks that are just plain nuts. Then honest folks get all caught up in the fire.

I have spent my entire life interested in and studying the fringe stuff. Chem trails, chip implants (geeze that one goes back to the 1960's and the JFK assassination), black helicopters, 9/11, Waco, Ruby Ridge etc. etc. The Art Bell stuff and long before him the Long John Nebel stuff. Some of it is otherworldly and that is fun to me. But there is another side which has drifted over to the political side. Now its been around for ages (the Illuminati, the Protocol of Zion etc) but with the Internet it has exploded. LaRouche is a guy for instance who has this entire structured view of the world that is just off the wall AND he is a genuine manipulator of his followers minds. Other guys like Bo Gritz, Alex Jones, Jim Marrs, the Jeff Rense crowd etc etc all fit the everything is a plot and "oh send me money" by the way model.

So I am absolutely open to listening to any theory anyone has out there. But then I sit back and think for myself. I believe the gov't has lots of other crap to do besides listening to my phone calls. More to do than planting antennas in paper money. More to do than tracking my cell phone by billion dollar satellite. More to do than poisoning my water with fluorides, flu vaccine and air with chem trails.

Hell, we have Delta teams all over the mid east looking for Bin Laden. We are using BILLION DOLLAR SATELLITES to try to catch him. But you know what? 500 Delta team guys and thousands of other guys LOST HIM IN THE MOUNTAINS of Afghanistan. So much for the omnipotent gov't. Are there nasty corrupt guys in gov't? You bet your life there are. Do they sometimes focus on an individual and drive him into the ground? You bet they do. But not as some organized "gov't" conspiracy. But as individuals who have no morals, no ethics. They are pieces of excrement but the gov't is not them. No more than a Russian spy who works for the gov't represents "the gov't".

My feelings are also tainted (the new Blago buzzword these days) by having worked in LE for the Feds. I have never seen such a corrupt, incompetent organization in my life. Alcoholics, morons, more worried about overtime than their job. If your worried about your security just look at the US borders. They can't even control a bunch of freaking illegals from coming into this country by the MILLIONS. My feelings are also tainted by working in corporate America for  much too long in sales. I realized there that there is a boundless number of folks with enormous egos perfectly willing to promote themselves and their efforts to make some cash. Lie Cheat Twist whatever it takes. Drumming up fear is a very big sales tactic. That is the one you really have to watch out for.

So that is why I trust no one. And why I think the conspiracists of the world need to calm down and relax. I always think of the Dept Of Motor Vehicles when I think of the gov't and then things come into proper perspective. So is the world full of SOB's? Yup. But the good thing is that they haven't taken over the country yet. No cabal running things.

Please excuse the rambling, I need to go take my meds now...and oh yes, I do believe UFO's and BigFoot are real.

I think gun owners are overly worried about what BHO can do and when. I don't think he can do anything that will be effective immediately. On the other hand I think he will make Executive Orders and bypass Congress.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington.
