Kel-Tech PF-9 uddate.
« on: July 10, 2007, 05:05:42 PM »
UPDATE!!  Took the PF-9 with me today and shot it.  After about 20 to 25 rounds the trigger failed to return.  I took the thing home, took it apart, and after much contemplation and looking at the diagram figured out that the trigger return spring is supposed to ride in a groove on the underside of the connector rod.  It was not, it had come off of it somehow.  Problem solved, but this is quite disconcerting on a pistol that might be called upon to save your life.  I have fired at most 300 rounds through this gun since I have bought it.

I have not had a problem with my PF9,but I am a member of KTOG and as soon as I got my pistol I checked the trigger bar and found the grove in  it was not deep enough, disassembled it a few minutes with a small abrasive wheel(hand held no power) and the problem was solved.I am close to 300 rounds with zero problem    hth   Doug

It done it again today, after 19 rounds.  To say I am a little P.O.ed would be an understatement.

This is a quote of my Dad before he took the "long nap".....
Quote
Never !NEVER! carry a gun which can't or shouldn't be trusted 100%, and laugh at the Dumb Son-of-a-gun that keeps it in his safe

My old said a lot of things which i have forgot but that as they say "AINT ONE OF 'EM!".

Just be honest with the gunshop you sell or trade it at. Dont burn them bridges and give the shop a chance to send it back to get it fixed. You never know, it may just save the next owner the repeat story.

I just updated my Kel-Tec PF-9 review. The slide has developed soon-to-be fatal cracks at the ejection port, both sides. No heavy diet of full house rounds. Mostly WWB range ammo and less than 2K at that. If you own one, look closely. I would have included photos but I'm not that good with my digital camera. I'm sending it back this week and will advise what happens. Even had the slide Dura-coated! Damn!!
