THE OFFICIAL WHITEHOUSE POLICY ON GUNS
« on: January 21, 2009, 06:41:00 PM »
Kind of a follow up to previous discussion based on the BHO website during the transition. Went out to the official government website and pulled up the URBAN POLICY page... >:(

Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

The use of the phrase "illegal arms trade" I believe clearly indicates a United Nations policy. They will sign the treaty to ban small arms worldwide.

Also noted that in ADDITIONAL ISSUES they have this paragraph...

Sportsmen

President Obama did not grow up hunting and fishing, but he recognizes the great conservation legacy of America's hunters and anglers and has great respect for the passion that hunters and anglers have for their sports. Were it not for America's hunters and anglers, including the great icons like Theodore Roosevelt and Aldo Leopold, our nation would not have the tradition of sound game management, a system of ethical, science-based game laws and an extensive public lands estate on which to pursue the sport. The President and Vice President recognize that we must forge a broad coalition if we are to address the great conservation challenges we face. America's hunters and anglers are a key constituency that must take an active role and have a powerful voice in this coalition.

Translation......

No one is allowed to own guns. No one.

You may still go hunting, but first you must pass an extensive background check and pay exorbitant fees to be licensed to barrow a gun from a government agency for use on your hunt and then it must immediately be returned to the agency or you will face the penalty of life in prison.

No, no, no. That is not right. YOU will have to pay for the guns, the govt. won't pay for it. The govt will just tell when, where, how or if you can use it and how much it will cost you. They will of course still keep "safe" for you in their own armory. (See Australia)

No, you can still hunt.  With a bow and arrow, or a stick, or a rock.  No eeevil guns, though.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

You know I think that if gun free zones are the answer to gun violence then they should just make the white house and the capital gun free zones.  No guns allowed at all, even secret service, that should give the president plenty of protection

yep I am seeing it

every day
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them
