The Fight For Freedom
« on: January 22, 2009, 04:48:52 PM »
I have recently been labeled a "fanatic going off on another one of my political tantrums."  This from a co-worker with no higher aspiration than to get his next level 80 on some new video game release.  He was backed up by another who stated that his friend committed suicide with his dads gun and that father would have to live with that fact for the rest of his life.  And then it came out, I was told that some control is neccessary to preserve our safety and to prevent such tragedies, like that suicide.

Of course I responded that control addresses simptoms and education and love and respect addresses the cause. Furthermore, using that logic, we need to outlaw razorblades, bridges, skyscrappers, etc.  Never argue with idiots, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

So I got this thought and it is just this:  I believe, or at least it appears to me (in my present state of mind) that, our Freedoms are always under attack, always.

Foreign Monarchs pressing us under the thumb of tyranny, red communists threatening us from behind an iron curtain, cowardly terrorist striking at us around the globe and now on our own soil, violent criminals robbing us of our security and comfort in our own backyards.  All threatening our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

But some attacks are not so clear.  Some attacks come from our own representitives, politicans, media outlets, ignorant coworkers and family members.  Most are well meaning, I'm sure.  But in their misguided desire to control Hate, Violence, Poverty, etc.,they violate many of our freedoms for "the greater good." Or some simillar front.

These are the most dangerous attacks on our freedom.  They come from within.  Blindsides you, strikes at you with pressure from your peers, twists the meaning of one 'right' or truth to attack another.  They prey on your emotions and fears.  They use your own resources (taxes, media, etc) against you.

But I digress, all I mean to say is, it does appear clear that Freedom is under atack on many fronts and in many guises.  If we are to defend our freedom, if we are to preserve our rights and liberties, we must be vigilant, engaged, open mouthed and active about our beliefs.  I believe we must always be ready and willing to defend our God given, inalienable human rights.

As tombogan so eloquently phrases it, we need to enact a NO SHRUG POLICY.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

We don't have a Asp ban in the United States and people have used that to commit suicide...

You are an idiot if you think that will stop anything. Just like Prohabition didn't stop drinking and Drunk Driving laws don't stop drunk driving.
(Two easy examples)

if emotion is the argument someone uses you can't convince them otherwise, but to be sure reason (logic) always has to argued, and maybe sooner or later you can convince them of the error of their ways.

The people who say gun laws are for "safety" (it's for the children), or that they are needed to reduce crime, are, to be blunt, full of sh!t.

Lets address safety first, In order to learn how to manage money, your parents probably gave you chores and an "allowance" for doing them, in order to prevent teen drivers from killing themselves and others they teach Drivers Ed in every school system in America, in order to prevent teen pregnancy (I remember when this started) and the spread of VD they started teaching Sex ed classes in every Public school system in America. If the safety of America's youth were TRULY the issue firearms training would be taught in every school in America.
As for fighting crime, Rape, robbery, murder and assault have ALWAYS been against the law all the way back to Hammurabi. We now have 20,000 or more gun laws on the books and these crimes continue to be committed, especially in places with the toughest anti gun laws. You would think that some bright eyed genius would figure out that all these laws only show criminals where the pickings are easiest. Criminals do not obey laws, it's in their job description, it's why they are called "Lawbreakers". If fighting violent crime were TRULY the  aim of these gun grabbing liars they would be going after VIOLENT OFFENDERS, not FBI certified good citizens who wish to legally exercise their rights, they would be going after the "Soft" Judges who let these animals out of jail early to reoffend, THEY are the danger to society, not us.
But these are NOT the true objective of the people who require every individual to get personal approval to exercise their 2nd amendment right.  Gun control is not about guns at all. It is about CONTROL. Elitist a$$holes like George Soros have a political agenda and they realize that if the majority of the people realized what it is the previously mentioned elitist left would be exterminated like the anti American, anti Freedom scum that they are.

For information to fight back go to www.gunfacts.info The guy who wrote all this made a point of AVOIDING NRA supplied data because of the perceived bias of the NRA. Everyone HERE knows the Brady bunch lie, everyone else thinks the NRA probably does as well, (they might, but I've never caught them in one) So he went to source documents and uses THOSE for his footnotes. It's 92 pages that he WANTS people to copy and pass on.
If we want to keep our freedom , education is one of the most important weapons we have. We must get people asking things like " If gun control is such an important tool in fighting crime, how come the cities with the toughest gun laws have the highest crime rates?".

Suicide by gun, cops, or any other manner is just Darwin at work. Hopefully it occurs before they reproduce. Not that I think this is a ggod thing, but remember the experiments about rats & their social values? They will attack one another or a group will attack another group or even an individual. Or one will commit suicide by taking on the big guy (they don't have guns). This is more commonplace as the population swells (like our cities). If the population is controlled, there is little to no disharmony (like our more rural areas).

But the bottom line is personal responsibility. You are in control of your own destiny - even if you refuse to admit it. If you give up, it is your choice & you will be judged in the next life (depending on what you believe) accordingly.

So cling to your guns & religion & take control (or keep control) of your own life - make sure to continue to rant & eventually those other idiots may actually come around when it becomes their idea. Our freedom is always under attack by those who are not in control of themselves & always will be - they cannot understand our philosophy. We must make sure they are a minority rather than a majority.
"...it does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds" -- Samual Adams

Another thing to think about, In Japan, they have half the population we do and NO private guns, but they have the same (more or less) number of suicides, in other words ZERO guns and DOUBLE the suicide rate.
