Ruger pushed me the wrong way...
« on: January 22, 2009, 10:42:01 PM »
I should have known that having my LCP back in about a week would be impossible. Called Ruger to see when I would be able to track it on it's way home only to find out that the wait has been extended to 6+ weeks. And of course they didn't plan to tell us about this change. Now I know why SR9 owners are just a little ticked. I thought that's why we waited 2 months to send them in was to prevent this. Couldn't they insure the parts were on hand versus last minute oops we don't have enough parts to fix all of them. Bad Ruger! And I can't get my gun back at this point for anything.

I feel for you. It's very frustrating, the way we love these little machines, to have them laid up and you can't do anything to get it straight. With the economy maybe they had to lay some people off or something. If it's an outside smith, I can't imagine that it would be a problem. An outside contractor could make a career out of "Upgrading" all these new Ruger models.

Ruger says that part vendor that is supplying the parts to correct the problem did not send enough. Come on you know how many guns are out there you should know how many parts will be neccessary.

  I HATE yellow print

How's that for a rant    ;D
Seriously, just because Ruger ORDERED 200,000 of part X does not mean the vendor will send them   :-[
When they said the vendor"did not send enough" they probably meant that .
You will notice that one of the earlier posts said they were CHANGING vendors, thats probably why.

I had one of the early P-85s that were recalled.  (long, long ago)  Ruger repaired the bad part and sent the pistol back to me in about 2 months, with a new magazine included!

Do not fear, your gun will be returned, eventually.

Until that day, buy a new S&W J frame.  It will fit that empty pocket where the LCP used to sit.   :D

I sent my LCP in 12/31.  I called them on this past Wed because I was wondering what was the plan.  The service rep told me that it was supposed to be done this week.  I just got it Friday afternoon.  The mag extention is supposed to be coming later but I got a LCP baseball cap.  I'm satisfied.  Things happen when you deal with outside contractors, but since it didn't cost me anything to ship getting a $30 mag plus a $8 cap was well worth the wait.

Ruger was great replacing my SR9 trigger assembly...fast, easy and a minimum of fuss.

On a different plain....if someone here works at the plant....there's got to be a bunch of those old SR9 trigger assemblies laying around in a junk bin somewhere...I want one of those old ones back in my gun.  I'll trade a bit of ca$h to get back to 7lbs no questions asked.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, (at least on here, other places it can be fun and pleasant ;D  ) but those old trigger assemblies have probably already gone to be recycled.

Party pooper.  There's got to be one or two trickling in a week....or some that fell behind the trash bin or something....
