Safety glasses missing from SUSA TV show
« on: January 24, 2009, 10:56:22 AM »
Did anybody notice on one of those other shows that was covering Creedmoor style matches that the Army dude didn't use eye protection?

I may drop them a note.  THAT show doesn't have a forum.  But I've gotten responses from them to my email before.

Jim is very good about personally replying to e-mails.  His e-mails also seem to show that he is listening, so I have felt comfortable that he means what he says in them.

I also noticed that problem with no eye protection.  It is a bad example to non and new shooters, but we can use it as a teaching tool with our children and friends rather than just dismissing and condeming the show.

I was watching a show on History yesterday morning and was amazed at how many historian collectors and re-enactors were shooting not just regular firearms but flintlocks without eye protection.  Not to mention the number of these people that did not wear hearing protection either.

Is it possible that they were wearing the cheaper all clear safety glasses like we get free at work , that just didn't show up in the video? Hearing protection could be flesh toned ear plugs, or covered by hair (if plugs) but I can not believe that ANY RO/SO would allow a person to shoot with out proper safety equipment in this age of lawsuits. And AMTU ? That is a violation of a specific order that all shooters WILL use proper safety equipment.

In the scenes I was watching it was very clear that there was no protection.
