The covert back up shotgun rack for your bed mattress.
However remember that you don't leave your gun laying around unlocked while you're away. Before you leave your home, always lock and secure your gun in a large safe. Large enough of a safe where the burglars can not carry it away.

Neat little invention, but I don't intend on being caught in bed, there's a serious lack of cover.
I'd end up shooting myself in the foot.

I have one of these and it works great. I agree, not for those with children in the house.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

If you have access to a welder it would be pretty simple to make.

Actually, you could make it from 11 ga (1/8") flat bar, saw cut and screw the cross bars onto the legs then bend a V notch in a simple bench vise...paint it and shove it under the matress...
