Anybody got a WW-II 1911 rear sight they don't need
« on: July 13, 2007, 08:31:39 AM »
I've got a Colt 1911 XSE that shoots low for me, as do most pistols that I shoot, and instead of filing of the front sight and loosing the white dot, I was thinking about putting on the standard 1911 sight, which would lower the rear sight height.  In the Navy when I qualified for ship security force, the Government 1911's I shot were pretty close to POA for me, so does anyone have one I can buy or point me in the direction where to buy one...

One big problem WymoreWrangler, If you are hitting low, rear sight needs to go up not down! You need to raise the rear sight with any good gunsmith knowing what hight with one of your targets. Has to be yours because he is mostlikely trying to fix your triggerfinger problem. If he testfires your gun and doesnt punch the trigger the same way as you. Then Problem not fixed and you are out some $. Just trying to help man,

Okay, I realized I was headed the wrong way, the 1911 is at a gunsmith getting a Millett sight put on, course the dovetail was to small so he has to fit it, darn I feel naked leaving it there until Monday....
