sig22940,since the banning of imported rifles like these, they must have 6 american made parts installed to be compliant, alot of companys are putting on US barrels and stocks, any part that is made in the US will qualify. But if it was pre-ban and grandfathered in it will be ok. I would check where you got itto be sure.

Walter45Auto, I just got a manual from Cheaper Than Dirt.  Lots of really good places to learn about this rifle.  Thanks a lot, guys, for all the info.  I ought to be an expert in no time . . . well, maybe a little longer than that. ;D  I'll be going to the store where it was purchased and will ask about those American made parts.  Thanks for that tip, 2SHOW.
