Episode #110: Advanced Armament Silencers Shoot
Quiet! How cool is a shooting competition where you don't need hearing protection. Suppressors have been wrongfully demonized and that's never qute so clear as at our exclusive coverage of the annual Suppressor Shoot in Georgia, where everything from .22s to .50BMGs on an the line, and there's not a pair of earplug to be found!

Airtimes on the Outdoor Channel: Premieres February 4, 2009 * 3:30PM, 8:00PM and 11:30PM ALL TIMES EASTERN

Another great show.  I am so glad to see suppresors getting some good & accurate tv time.  Most people (even shooters) do not understand cans.

Great show and info on silencers, wish I had pen and paer out.  Does anyone know who makes the silencer that can be used with different guns and the one that just pops on and off the AR-15.  I missed who made those models.  Please email me ar gsr_45@live.com or leave a post.  Thanks.

I have an Advanced Armanent M4-2000 for my AR.  It uses an Yankee Hill Machine flash supressor quick connect..which probably means Yankee Hill Machine's 5.56 can is also a quick connect.  Gem-Tech and SWR may make them too.

The can for the AR that was featured on this episode for was a true QD can manufactured by John's Guns. Brent Hemphill was the one being interviewed for John's Guns and was demonstrating the can. By "true" QD, I mean that absolutely nothing proprietary is needed to use it. A standard, mil-spec A2 flash hider, the kind commonly found on many AR configurations, is all that is need ed for the push button on and off mechanism to work.

And thanks tot he show, we've been flooded with inquiries and orders! Who knew?! Thanks!

I know this question is from 09' but the manufacturer of the multi caliber suppressor from the silencer shoot is Innovative Arms, LLC. The can is called the "Solution". It has a one peice baffle core that's machined from billet bar stock so it has no internal welds that could fail. http://www.innovativearms.com/aboutus.html

I've been told you can mount most .308 surpressors on smaller caliber guns, and not give up much performance.  I'm looking at mounting a .308 Phantom on a .223 rifle.

Thread cut might be a problem.

I think the thread pattern is different on different caliber suppressors to prevent someone from putting, say, a .223 suppressor on a .308 by accident.

If you are having the barrel custom cut it shouldn't matter, but if you want to take off the flash suppressor on an AR and thread on a .308 suppressor you might be out of luck.

The Solution suppressor has a thru hole for. 30 cal but comes with 3 adapters that are of different thread pitches for different rifles.  If your rifles aren’t threaded yet you could thread them the same pitch as the can and use a standard 30 cal suppressor.  This I.A. set up covered these 4 rifles with adapters.
