Canada - How NOT to fix a problem

The following is from an article today about mounting gang violence/murders in Vancouver BC. The equivalent of their Attorney General, the Solicitor General, John van Dongen isn't thinking about maybe letting law abiding folks to carry concealed? Probably not in the Super Nanny State to the north. :( I wonder who these "consultants" are?

Mr. van Dongen hired two consultants last summer to review all firearms-related regulations, look at how enforcement agencies tackle the problem and how they communicate with each other.

He's currently circulating a draft version of the report that he says contains “a number of actionable recommendations.”

Ok, I am now convinced this guy is just an idiot.

This first article is about him trying to shut down legit businesses catering to the movie industry in BC.

He says there are an "excessive" number of movie prop companies.

The second article shows how anti's can actually see the truth of the situation outside of it applying to guns but are blinded when firearms are involved...

Here's a quote..."B.C.'s solicitor general says gangsters won't stop using body armour just because it's illegal."

I agree with you 110%. I also believe that our self proclaimed leaders in America have been educated by our neighbors to the north because of all the stupid anti-gun laws they come up with THAT DO NOT WORK - SOOO LETS DREAM UP MORE LIKE MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO OWN A CHICKEN PLATE, THAT WILL STOP THIS MADNESS ::)
“As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people.  On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron.”  H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun,  July 26, 1920.

Vancouver was a hell-hole when I was there. I've never been panhandled as much - even in Chicago in the old days - as I was in Vancouver. Dirty, smelly aging hippies wanting "spare change". Big deal, they got a steam clock downtown. Whoopie.

I much preferred Victoria.

After Friday's shooting, RCMP spokesman Cpl. Peter Thiessen pleaded with gang members' families to help the police forestall such attacks.

I am glad to see he is taking effective action, can't we just get along?

Where is the link to the video of that teenage girl, who seems to be the expert on gun-related issues in the great White North. I think she may be the one with the answers. Maybe she could become President of the United States. We already have a guy in office who may not have been born here.

I know that there are a large number of gun owners in Canada that are just like us. Good law abiding citizens that recognize the right of self defense being transcendent of government. The great north though has I believe a larger segment of the population than even our Left Coast that are opposed to guns, gun rights, and individual freedom. It is going to be an uphill battle. I hope Katey is the harbinger of good things to come.

It looks like our leadership is probably taking us off the deep end too.
