Ya gotta remember the MSM uses the '10 factor rule'.

If lefty rally inflate number by 10 factor.

If conservative rally deflate number by 10 factor.

;)

And make fun of it by making crude juvenile sexual references to it and giggle at your (news reader's) "creativity". Sick bastards, I hope someone is keeping a list of names so if and when the Mussolini solution comes to pass, no one appropriate gets passed over.

Was listening to Tom Gresham's radio show yesterday. If I heard right he said that he was not happy with the march. He pulled out of actively supporting it. The gist of it was that no one was raising money from the big donors. Hence in his opinion the march would fizzle due to lack of funds. I'm certainly dissappointed. I value Gresham's opinion. I am going to monitor the situation but now I have a queasy feeling about it actually coming off. To hear his commnents you can listen to his archived 4-19-2009 show. The third hour, about 2/3s the way in...

The Secondamendmentmarch has applied to the National Park Service designating April 19, 2010 as the date for the march in DC.  They are also in the process of naming the state coordinators who will be responsible for organizing town meetings and the marches on the individual State Capitols.  The organizers have done a tremendous job with the website.  In the Forums section you can click on your State to communicate with those who share your passion to make this undertaking a success.  Go to the website and sign up for the email newsletter.  Contact your friends in other states and tell them about this grass roots movement to defend our 2nd Amendment rights.  The success (or failure) of this venture rests with each of us.

What's New
National Training Week, July 4-11

The week of July 4th is being established as National Training Week, when Americans celebrate their freedom with firearms at the nation's shooting ranges. "Good Americans Are Good Marksmen." Perfect time to bring a newcomer to the range for an experience, and to exercise your freedom. Participating ranges offer free handgun rentals, special classes, go out and ask your local range to participate if they're not. (They'll probably say, "Never heard of it," that's OK, it's all described here, print it and give it to them):

http://www.gunlaws.com/NationalTrainingWeek.htm

Arizona Congressman John Shadegg has endorsed the idea, along with Gun Owners of America, The Second Amendment Foundation, many others, all posted at that link. You want to do something to defend your rights? Visit your range and motivate them.

Thanks to Alan Korwin of Gunlaws.com for this content.

Town Hall Meetings

Please be sure to regularly check our map on our homepage at www.SecondAmendmentMarch.com for Town Hall Meeting dates and locations.  New meetings are being added regularly.

MICHIGAN:
Our newest meeting was added today.  It is scheduled for August 5, 2009 at the Western Wayne County Conservation Association (WWCCA) in Livonia, MI.

Michigan Open Carry sponsored a meeting/picnic in Traverse City last weekend.  The weather was great and the company was even better.  We had a lone protestor show up, bearing a sign that read: "Ban Assault Weapons".  Northern Michigan's channel 7/4 showed up and interviewed both Skip Coryell and Brian Jeffs (Michigan coordinator for Second Amendment March and MOC President).  The final news segment didn't mention Second Amendment March, unfortunately, but it did bring some attention to peaceful, law-abiding citizens practicing their Constitutional right.

Later that day an email was forwarded to me.  It was an e-newsletter from none other than Michael Moore.  Read about it in this newsletter...

OHIO:
Second Amendment Coordinator Skip Coryell in Ohio July 11

Second Amendment Coordinator Skip Coryell will be speaking at the Party in the Park, the annual family picnic of Ohioans For Concealed Carry, on Saturday July 11 held in Liberty Park, just north of Columbus. In addition to speaking about the Second Amendment March, Skip will be conducting a book signing for his book, "RKBA: Defending the Right to Keep and Bear Arms." There will also be Second Amendment March merchandise available for sale with all profits going to the March.

You do not need to be a member of Ohioans For Concealed Carry to attend the picnic, and all attendees are entered for various door prize including two handguns! Ticket purchase is only required for those who plan to participate in the BBQ lunch. More information:
http://www.ohioccw.org/content/view/4251

We'll Protect You, Michael Moore!

A supporter at the Traverse City, Michigan MOC picnic forwarded an email to me after the picnic.  It was an e-newsletter from none other than filmmaker Michael Moore, who lives in Traverse City and runs his State Theatre there.  Mr. Moore opens the letter with:

"Oh, how hard it is to be faced with the choices we have this weekend in Traverse City! Do I go see that funny film everyone's talking about at the State Theatre? Or do I go to the picnic in Sunset Park where everyone will be carrying a real, live handgun? Michigan law now allows anyone to carry a gun in public as long as it's not concealed. The guns have to be visible, in their holster, and the gunowner must 'not brandish it in a threatening way.' A gun shop in town thought it would be a good idea to advertise this new law by packing the downtown public park on the bay tomorrow with people, little kids, beach balls, frisbees, Glocks and Magnums. Now THAT'S the way to convince people to come to beautiful Traverse City, Michigan!"

We've become a blip on the map!  Huzzah!

Apparently the 120+ people in attendance with their families felt safe enough.  I couldn't have imagined a safer place in the city.

The letter closes with:

"That's it from the Wild West of TC. Don't forget to wear Kevlar if you're visiting us in town tomorrow."

I suppose that would be true if TC implemented laws similar to DC that essentially create "Criminal Empowerment Zones".  Mr. Moore, there is no need to worry when law-abiding gun owners are involved.  What you should fear is the systematic disempowerment of the American People.

We cordially invite Mr. Moore to attend any Second Amendment March activity as our guest.  No Kevlar needed.

I see "Uncle Ted" will be there and participating.

No need to wonder if the message will be loud and clear.

Maybe not? Because if you read in the last and most recent newsletter, the longtime gun activist wants 2 1st class air tickets, a hotel room, and $40K to show up.

The last email basically ended saying he was no longer welcome. So if it is or was Uncle Ted, I've lost quite a bit of respect for him. I mean, he's rich enough he should be donating to this cause and coming and speaking for free, at his own cost. Like anyone of us or like us that will be there.

I guess no one, other then the little guys, but no gun or ammunition manufacturer, though they probably know about it, but have also NOT been formally contacted and asked yet, haven't come forward on their own to help or donate anything yet either.
I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6!

I know Tom Gresham pulled his support because he did not like some of the others who WERE getting involved, He did not mention any names but I suspect he was referring among others to Piazza of Front site who is under indictment for several fraud charges.

What's New
When Was The Last Time You Took The Civics Test?
We all have various milestones in our lives.  I have had a number of them since May 2001 when I came to this country on the employment visa.  November 18, 2009 will be another milestone in my life - I am required to take a two hour civics test and English language knowledge test as part of my naturalization process.

I got a notice from USCIS in August 2009 that I am now eligible to apply for a U.S. citizenship.  I jumped for joy, to say the least.  The next thing I did was to ask my lawyer which form I have to file and how much is the application fee?  Next action item was to download the civics test flash cards - a sample of questions (available on 2A marchUSCIS website) you should expect to be asked during the test.  I felt well prepared already.  I've been preparing for a number of years - even before I got my "green card".  During last eight years, I have visited Mt. Vernon twice, went to the National Archives, as well as Philadelphia, Colonial Williamsburg, Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highland, The Hermitage, Bull Run and Petersburg battlefield grounds, and Appomattox; I met the impersonators of Gen. Washington and Patrick Henry.

I also found out that as a foreigner, I cannot contact my state's senator or representative and ask for a pass to tour the Capitol, but if I present my foreign passport and go through multiple of the Capitol building's security check points, I could be allowed to sit in the gallery during the session of either of the chambers.  I did so with my mother while she was visiting me, who was just as surprised and excited to get this opportunity.

When my husband and I sat down one evening on our front porch and I asked him to read the 100 questions from the flash cards, I answered most of them without hesitation.  Note to the developers of the flash cards - the federal government has the power "to coin Money" (Art. 1, Sec. 8 ), it does not have the power to print money (as the test's suggested answer implies).  We know too well what "printing money" leads to.

There were few wrong answers on my part, and one great surprise.  Turned out I wrongly assumed that the right to vote was in the Bill of Rights.  It could be considered as a granted right and there are 4 separate amendments that cover this subject and make sure people are not discriminated or denied a right to vote for various reasons.

But one suggested answer that brought a feeling of pleasant surprise to both of us was to the question "What are two rights of everyone living in the United States?"  (The question expects you to name just two rights, although we know there are more; and the potential list of answers is not limited to just two answers.)  'The right to bear arms' was not the answer I expected to see.  Nevertheless, there it was, on the list of correct answers.  Hah!  I just found the explanation to why we have such a large number of people in the anti-gun-owners movement.  I can only guess that very few of them ever took the naturalization test.  If they did, they would at once stop arguing with 2A activists and defenders.  Let's propose and pass a new amendment regarding voting right - that everyone has to pass a civics test before they can register to vote.

Now, I am not trying to come across as know-it-all sort of person.  To the contrary, until about 2004 I had no clue that "right to keep and bear arms" was an actual language of the Second Amendment.  Fact is, I did not care to know much about it, much less to exercise it.  And look at me now - I am a member of VCDL, and a life-time member of the Second Amendment Sisters.

I am also a Virginia State Coordinator for the Second Amendment March which is set to take place in Washington, D.C. on April 19, 2010.  If you have not heard about it yet, I urge you to visit our website and consider volunteering and supporting our mission.  We need all the help we can get.  We are all volunteers and can only be as successful as your willingness to help us.  The mission of the Second Amendment March is to galvanize the courage and resolve of Americans; to petition our elected officials against establishing anti-gun legislation; and to remind America that the Second Amendment is necessary to maintain our right to self defense.  It is the one right that protects all others.

As I travel across Virginia and spread the word about the March, every once in a while someone would ask me a question, "Do you think we can lose our right?  Do you think government can take it away?"  Well, the Second Amendment states that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed".  Today there are thousands of laws on the books, regulating and restricting individuals from owning certain types of arms, carrying them in certain places, etc.  How is that for not infringing on the right?  You have already lost so much, and sure will lose more unless you stand up and fight any new restrictions or regulations.  They will take it, one step at a time, unless we make our voices heard.

That one test question is amazing for yet another reason.  "What are two rights of everyone living in the United States?"  Are we to assume there is not a single living soul left today in Chicago, California, New York and Washington, D.C., except for police, politicians and celebrities?  If you don't get the irony of the question, look up the gun laws in those places.

I will update you on the results of my test and other developments on my way to citizenship.  Meanwhile, I leave you with a trivia question - "Who was the President to appoint the most number of judges to the Supreme Court?"

The County Sheriff: America's Last Hope
Sheriff Mack's newest book covers decades of research to prove once and for all that the sheriffs in this country are indeed the ultimate law authority in their respective jurisdictions. The sheriff absolutely has the power and responsiblity to defend his citizens against all enemies, including those from our own Federal Government. History, case law, common law and common sense all show clear evidence that the sheriff is the people's protector in all issues of injustice and is responsible for keeping the peace in all matters. He is the last line of defense for his constituents; he is America's last hope to regain our forgotten freedom. This short but powerful book is a must read for all citizens, sheriffs, and government officials that we may all work to return America to the constitutional republic she was meant to be. Amazing as it might be, the sheriff can make this happen!

I participated yesterday in the Texas march in Austin. TX. Met some good folks and expanded the list of gun buddies.
Although it rained, we still went to the capitol and had a state representative come out, and give a speech. It is time for Americans  to hit the streets, wake up their fellow man and vote and remove these commies trying to take down our country. This is a shouting war, and those congress critters can no longer turn a deaf ear. Stand proud Americans!
