+1 on a pocket holster (and Mika makes an excellent one). I also prefer either a hammerless revolver or a semiauto because of the snag factor. I currently use the Ruger LCP .380 in a Desantis Nemesis, another cheap, good pocket holster.
There is usually a specific draw for the type pocket holster you choose...a sort of a "bump" with the middle finger of the strong hand against the holster to free the gun so you don't pull out the holster as well as the gun. Even holsters that have a "sticky" outside (like roughed out leather) will sometimes surprise you, so it's a good idea to always bump the holster.
