greatest fear factor?
« on: February 21, 2009, 06:07:59 PM »
What gun would you fear the most on a battlefield is a question that many people possibly ask themselves when using, looking at, or buying guns along with "is this weapon fearsome?" don't deny it we've all asked ourselves this question at some point or another even those people who have no military experience, so I ask everyone here which gun would you fear? Personally I would fear a sniper on the battlefield for the simple fact that if you know there is a sniper then he has probably by that time injured you or an ally and you probably don't know where he is shooting from, now that can be fearsome.

not to be a 'smart-ass' or anything....but my biggest fear would be ANY gun that was pointed in my general direction for the purposes of ill will.

Now, on to what you are asking, I would agree that the sniper would generally be biggest morale killer and fear monger in my opinion.

I agree, that's why I train to be one. 1 on 1 sucks, I'm too old and tired, cheating is acceptable in combat, but I can be effective from afar.

I would not fear the gun as much as the bullets wizzing by my head.

Artillery is a bitch, as well as fragmentation devices and mines, indescriminate attack, is the worst, but hopefully you dug a foxhole, a sniper is gonna wait for YOU  to poke your head up. I reconsider my remark. I think in combat the Improvised explosive devices, would get my greatest attention, although it's hard to be good at finding them and exposing them. So attention be damned, it might get you anyway.

The greatest equalizer of men on the battlefield, is fear itself.

I think machineguns have killed more people on battlefields than any other guns, so they're scary. Friendly fire from a bunch of n00bs would be scary too. Any gun pointed at me is scary.
