DPMS, only AR I've seen that the upper and lower fit tight enough as to not rattle, wiggle, allow any movement at all between the two.  NICE machining throughout.

Let not your heart be troubled.................the simple solution to rattling uppers and lowers in an AR 15......the "Accu-Wedge".  It works like a charm to end rattling and also improves your shooting accuracy.

I havefinally decided to bite the bullet (groans, hurling of rocks etc.) and get a tactical carbine. I once owned, and liked, an olympic h-bar. They are now owned by Remington/Bushmaster. I am torn between the bushmaster A-3 m4 and bushmaster predator. I am not commited to an AR-15 platform, but any input would be appreciated. If it helps, I do not have the money to build the rifle I want now. I just want the basic chassis and the high cap (easily available mags), that I can build on later as finances permit.

If you want something AR like, uses AR mags, you can go XCR, never used.  Sig 556, I thought was OK.  Or gas piston AR, from LWRC or POF, which I hope to get befor to soon.  But I'm sure gas piston AR 15 is a whole thread on its own.  And XCR is gas piston.

I have carried Colts and loved them. Personally owned a Bushmaster and thoroughly enjoyed it. My DPMS has been my favorite and would love to get one in .308.

I've been very happy with my flat top Bushmaster.  Which ever brand you decide on, I would highly suggest getting one with a flat top (if you like the carry handle you can still add one to it).  It makes mounting optics a lot easier.
