200 or 230 grain in .45 ACP.  For my .40 S&W I use 180grain Hornady XTP JHP.

I carry both. 180 in .40 and 230 in .45

230gr. in .45ACP

I like the Remington Golden Sabre in 165gr. for my .40 as a SD rd.

I 2nd the Remington Golden Sabre in 165gr. for my .40S&W!!  They run through my 3" barrel and eat it up very well!!

I generally use lighter .45 hollowpoint bullets like 165 and 185 gr. For ball ammo I use 230 because it's cheaper and the 185 gr semi-wadcutters don't feed as well as 230 gr round nose.

I personally like the heavest bullet I can get...
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.
