One of the greats no doubt, but really got screwed by the corps after all he did for them, they sat on their thumbs and refuse to support him in his hour of need.

Semper-Fii - riiiiiiiight.
Only when it works for them in their favor I guess.

RTFM I would like to hear more. What do you know about his final days? I understood that he retired and passed from MS. I have a copy of the tape that Plaster did with him...

Carlos Hathcock, Marine Sniper (VHS TAPE)
 Interviewed by Maj. John Plaster
After many previous conversations, Maj. Plaster visited Gunny Hathcock at his home in Virginia Beach, Va., bringing along a video crew to record, first-hand, his fascinating combat stories, advice on long-range shooting and ideas about training snipers. A portion of this interview was included in Maj. Plaster's first Ultimate Sniper video, and proved so popular that this longer, full-length version has been released separately. The royalities on this video go to the Hathcock family.

One who truly IS  the standard for those who follow in his bootsteps.

RIP.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
