LCP- A PERSONAL REVIEW

YEAH....
DON'T BE AFRAID TO BUY THE LCP.  I THINK ENOUGH HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT THE RECALL ON THIS GUN.  I'M SURE RUGER IS/HAS BEEN EMBARRASSED BY IT AS WELL.  I THINK THEY'RE DOING ALL THEY CAN TO SAVE FACE ON THIS ONE.  RUGER HAS IN MY OPINION ALWAYS BEEN A TRIED AND TRUE FIREARMS MANUFACTURER.  WITH THAT BEING SAID...

I WISH I HAD TWO OF THEM!

UPSIDE:
-EASY TAKE DOWN FOR CLEANING AND INSPECTION
-LIGHTWEIGHT OFCOURSE, FEELS LIKE A SQUIRT GUN!
-EXTREMELY SMALL, FRAME FOR EASY CONCEALMENT
-EXCEPTS CRIMSON TRACE LASER FOR TARGETING
-SNAPPY, YET NOT UNCONTROLABLE RECOIL
-HEAVIER TRIGGER PULL DESIGNED FOR SAFER OPERATION DUE TO NO ON-GUN SAFETY
-CHAMBERS .380 ACP.  WHILE NOT MY FIRST CHOICE FOR CCW; A CONFIDENT SELF DEFENSE CALIBER IN MY OPINION.
-MORE AND MORE AFTERMARKET ACCESSORIES ARE BECOMING AVAILABLE AS IT'S POPULARITY GROWS.
-BANG, BANG, BANG EVERYTIME WITH MINE!
-COST BETWEEN $250.00 PRE RECALL, AND $350.00-/$400.00 NOW.

DOWNSIDE:
-NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FROM KEL-TEC AND OTHER MANUFACTURED OWNERS.  PEOPLE ARE SOLD ON WHAT THEY LIKE.
-NOT LARGE ENOUGH CALIBER FOR MANY
-HARD TO FIND GUN RIGHT NOW DUE TO RECALL WORK.  GET ON THE LOCAL GUN STORE WAITING LIST.
-HARD TO FIND MAGAZINES DUE TO RECALL WORK.  RUGER IS GIVING RECALL OWNERS A FREE MAG RIGHT NOW.     
 MAGS AVAILABLE THROUGH RUGER, BUT THEY ARE PRICEY.  CALL AROUND TO LOCAL GUN STORES FIRST.  $20-$40
-HARD TO FIND AMMO DUE TO CALIBER POPULARITY.  TRY A GUN SHOW.  I FOUND SOME THERE IN FMJ ONLY.
-HIGH CAPACITY 10 RD. MAGAZINE WAS AVAILABLE BY PROMAG.  CAN'T FIND ONE ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW.
-POINT AND SHOOT FRONT SITE.  MAKES CRIMSON TRACE LASER A MUST BUY.  HOLSTER AVAILABLE TO ACCOMODATE.
-TOO HEAVY OF A TRIGGER PULL UNCOMFORTABLE FOR MOST PEOPLE.  I LIKE IT.  IT'S SMOOTH TO ME.


I LIKE THE LITTLE TOETAGGER MYSELF.  I HAD BEEN EYEING THE KEL-TEC MODEL, BUT WASN'T SOLD ON IT'S DEPENDABILITY BEFORE RUGER CAME OUT WITH THEIR LCP.  AT THIS POINT, FROM WHAT I'VE READ OVER FORUM AFTER FORUM; IT HAS BECOME PERSONAL PREFERENCE OVER WHICH IS THE BETTER GUN.  HOWEVER, I HAVE READ THAT NON BIAS TESTERS HAVE PICKED THE LCP OVER THE KELTEC MODEL 3 OUT OF 4 SHOOTERS.

BEFORE YOU BELIEVE ALL THE RHETORIC; PUT YOUR HANDS ON ONE.  SHOOT ONE IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY.  SEE IF IT'S WHAT "YOU" WANT.  NOT WHAT EVERYONE ELSE WANTS, OR THINKS ABOUT THE LCP OR RUGER GUNS AS A WHOLE.

PEOPLE ARE AS DEDICATED TO A GUN MANUFACTURER AS THEY ARE TO AN AUTOMOBLIE MANUFACTURER.  BUY WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.

THIS IS MY OPINION ON THE LCP.  I'M NOT A GUN EXPERT.  I DON'T CLAIM TO BE.  THE GUN WORKS.  DESIGNED FOR CONCEALED CARRY, AND IS CALIBERED IN A ROUND I'M CONFIDENT WOULD GET A "WOULD BE ATTACKER'S" ATTENTION IF I SENT 2-3 ROUNDS AT THEM.  SOME LARGER FRAMED HANDGUNS IN ANY CALIBER JUST AREN'T COMFORTABLY CONCEALABLE FOR EVERYDAY CARRY.  I'M CONSTANTLY TRYING TO FIND ALTERNATIVE CARRY METHODS FOR MY .45.  THE LCP FITS THE POCKET HOLSTER EVERYDAY.

Coroner, if you hold the CTRL key down and turn the mouse wheel, you can enlarge/shrink the browser screen so you can read things easier.  :)
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

you guys guessed it right.  Lol!  The eyes gettin hard to read small print.  thanks for the advice on the CTRL key and mouse wheel.  i didnlt know i could do that.

Nice job Coroner, better than the "I love this gun cuz Ruger advertises here!"  Stuff I have seen in the gun mags.
