I just bought 2 LCPs; one for me and one for my wife. We shot 50 rounds each the other day and we were both happy with the guns.
I did try to load 6 + 1, by first loading the chamber manually and then inserting a full magazine. But I found the magazine just wouldn't go all the way in. What am I doing wrong? How do I get a full 7 loaded into the gun at once?
Check to see if the mag floorplates are metal or plastic. I have both kinds, and the last round is a bear to insert in the mags with the plastic floorplate (spring binds on either the floorplate or the follower). Once I "wiggle" it a little...then the follower "snaps" past and allows the last round to be easily loaded. They function flawlessley once they are loaded. I also noticed the follower on the mag with the metal floorplate is "notched" out on one side.
Interestingly enough...the mag I received with the gun has a metal floorplate and notched follower, and both mags I bought from the GS have plastic floorplates and no notch (they came in a Ruger package). I have not taken apart the free post-recall mag to see how its put together.
I said all that, just to say this...once you get the mag loaded up with 6 rounds, make sure to press them down to ensure there is still some travel available with the follower.
