Checked that video out a while back just killing time. I know that guy was hurting the next day after shooting his left hand. There was serious lack of range discipline and safety. Looked as if he was scared of the weapon???

I don't think being shot fully registered with the guy yet. I'm betting he freaked out off tape.

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

As much as I've enjoyed shaking my head at this nimrod, Fatman raises a scary point. If a round of 9mm at point blank in the hand isn't going to cause someone to "scream like sissy", where does that leave us, when the bullets are flying in both directions? We have all, heard, read, debated etc. stoping power of various calibers, and managed to make ourselves feel better about whatever we carry. We do this largely thinking "Hell, if the guy's shot, he's going to stop". Well, guess what, we just saw that this ain't so. Frankly, in a short range, sudden, no warning OH CRAP, scenario, putting a bullet anywhere on the BG is a good thing, particularly a hand, as far as non lethal hits go. But if nimrod was pissed and had a knife? If Rob Pincus, or anyone else with real world experience is reading, I'd appreciate the input.

The act of putting a .355" diameter, or even a .45" diameter hole in someone in and of itself is not what stops an attacker. What you are relying on is enough soft tissue and vital organ damage to cause that person's central nervous system to go into overload and cause the brain to shut down.

$hit happens, but it happend to me once. I got shot in the leg with a 10/22 they thought was empty.
It took me 3 weeks to walk on my right again, and not to mention my damage to my tat.
