Hey again Tex, If your shooting a wheelie gun, I always smooth and round my triggers, about twice as wide as a single action Colt. I have small hands and like my finger to catch the trigger at the first joint from the tip, for double action work. Me and Jerry Miculek ( sometimes known as god ) differ on this opinion. Where I curl my finger around the trigger, He puts the pad of the index finger on the trigger and presses straight back. That takes a lot of finger strength, and I won't debate his success. He also likes wide triggers for this approach. I'm glad my tips gave you some help. My warnings for reflex sights was mainly for newbies. I've been a range officer for over 20 years, and when you see someone struggling with one, it's sad. When I first tried one I had the same problem, no point of reference, but as I continued, it worked. I came to the conclusion, if you keep practicing with this, it makes your presentation more on the money. And when you start weak hand with it , same thing, but put one in the hands of a newbie, and try not to laugh.
Side note: 2 tenths, WOW, I was hoping you would do that. As we competitors know, over 5 stages with 4 or 5 runs allowed, that makes a big difference. Possibly 4-5 seconds.
I hope I get to see you shoot sometime.
Now for anyone shooting an 8 shot S&W revolver, I have a tip, I converted my personal gun to a short action, whats this?
because the 8 shot indexes the next cylinder so quickly, I removed the second sear for the double action, and now my trigger and hammer movement are 3/4 of normal travel. Anyone who wants more info on this, start a new thread.
Congrats Texcaliber.
