10- Freest States Identified

The lamestream media told you:

Nothing.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

The first-ever comprehensive ranking of the American states on their public policies affecting individual freedoms in the economic, social, and  personal spheres has been released by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.

"We find that the freest states in the country are New Hampshire, Colorado, and South Dakota, which together achieve a virtual tie for first place. All three states feature low taxes and government spending and middling levels of regulation and paternalism. New York is the least free by a considerable margin, followed by New Jersey, Rhode Island, California, and Maryland.

"On personal freedom alone, Alaska is the clear winner, while Maryland brings up the rear. As for freedom in the different regions of the country, the Mountain and West North Central regions are the freest overall while the Middle Atlantic lags far behind on both economic and personal  freedom. Regression analysis demonstrates that states  enjoying more economic and personal freedom tend to attract substantially higher rates of internal net migration." See the entire ranking, charts and details -- http://mercatus.org/PublicationDetails.aspx?id=26154

I will rather smugly note that New Hampshire tops the list   ;D

Yeah Colorado!
A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have. ~ Gerald Ford - August 12, 1974

I always knew that I loved this state (South Dakota) for more than one reason.

Just checked out the article. No wonder NH tops the list, it was compiled by Jason Sorenson, founder of "The Free state Project", which picked NH as the place they should all move to to affect "political  change for freedom". Unfortunately the majority of members SEEM to be ill mannered dope smokers rather than the type of people you would WANT representing freedom.

That's part of the reason why there was large number of the "Free State Project" members that decided to start a sperate movement into Wyoming, instead of NH, which is what a majority of the members voted for.

It appears Florida, and my former state of North Carolina, are in the "median group".

I noticed it right away regarding firearms. Yes its a shall issue state, few restrictions on purchases, the big BUT is actually shooting them.  Very, very regulated, almost "coddled" into a systemic mindset.

Interesting data.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Not to pee on anybody's cheerios, but.....Lets remember that South Dakota just basically voted to deny a woman's right to control her own body. Alaska is basically a parasite on the  federal government getting $1.34 in bennies (road and bridge to nowhere?) for every dollar in taxes it pays, plus last I heard they taxed the oil business to "spread the wealth around", in the form of multi thousand dollar checks to every resident. Socialism? Sure, you betch'a! As for NH and colorado?  Good On Ya'!!! There are few Libertarians out there.

Anyone that puts PA in the 2nd tier is full of BS.  That is a Democrat hell hole.  Just look at Philthydelphia.  That alone should put them at the bottom.

Yes  the abortion amendment did make it past the house of reps. and it was voted on in the last election, but it was still shot down for the second time.  One thing about South Dakota is that a majority of our population lives on the Eastern side of the Missouri River (basically divides the state in half), and a majority of them are liberal.  Here on the West side of the river most everyone is extremely conservative.  Also for the most part our liberals really aren't as bad as they are in most other states.  Our two senators are both democrates, but the are both indorced by the NRA and do a decent job for representing our state.  As far as our past lets not get into that because that would bring up Daschle and Janklow. >:(

I think that the South Dakota people who live east of the Missouri River are called Iowans.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!
