The proper way to say it is "Montana considering to end restrictions on concealed carry"

They do not ALLOW us to exercise a RIGHT.

At the recent hearing the LEO admins lost a lot of credibility due to some outlandish downright lies they put forth as "truth".  The bill does more than just CCW, and this is the 3rd time around for the bill.  I hope that we can get it through this time.

While the bill would remove a permit being needed for CCW, the permits here are pretty restrictive.  You cannot got into any place that serves alcohol, banks, train stations, and the usual government buildings.  You can however OPEN carry into those places.  Also the CCW permits are only for incorporated areas.  When outside of town you can conceal to your hearts delight.

A big blight on the current permit is they require your SSN (illegal), and then they print it on the permit.

I agree with Haz. Its the way it should be. The question is though, is that going to screw ya'll with reciprocity like Vermont? It'd be a shame if you couldn't drive into WY. or Id without it. And not be selfish, I would hate to think you'd reject my Fl ccw when I come up there to fish, because we probably will drop reciprocity if there's no permit. :(

Simplest answer is to get the other American states to do the same thing.

Simpler language - State decides to honor Bill of Rights!

Simplest answer that has a chance in hell  ;) is to remove the requirement for permits for CCW but retain the permitting program like Alaska does.

That gives us the ability to carry in our own state without restrictions and those states that honor our "permitless" status, but also maintains our reciprocity with those states that do require a permit for reciprocity.
