General Misc User Video Question (Bambi Related)
« on: August 11, 2007, 12:39:02 PM »
Greetings All!

Since Mr. Bane's website works better than most (other websites)I thought an attempt to upload my only video of a nice 8 point buck harvest  in the miscelllaneous user video category might be worth the effort.

While not exactly the same as shooting cardboard targets or steel plates there is nothing offensive in the clip. Unlike the harvest videos you see on hunting shows, this deer behaves in a completely unexpected manner (it does not drop in it's tracks)

Even though it was a perfect heart/lung hit the deer ran off camera and then back into frame and into the treeline where it
fell within twenty yards of where it was orginally shot.

When we initially reviewed the tape we thought it was a complete miss because of a puff of dirt at the deer's feet. Turns out the puff of dirt was the bullet impact some 8/10 feet on the OTHER side of the deer after it had passed completely through.

So the instructional nature of the shot might make it worthwhile for a larger audience to view, but I do not want to offend anyone's sensiblilities since this is the "shooting" side of the 2nd Amendment universe and not the "hunting" side of the 2nd Amendment universe.

I await the judgement of the posting audience and the call of the  moderators.  By the way, this in no way guarantees I will actually be ABLE to upload said video, I merely promise to try.

      Best regards,

Hazcat

About 100 yards at an angle from a treestand.

.308 168 grain Winchester Ballistic Silvertip from a Ruger M77 Bolt Action Rifle fitted with (yes,) a bull barrel.

This is farm hunting, not forest and field hunting so we do things a little differently.

I will admit I have started to leave the camera in the truck because it is something of a nuisance.

My hat goes off to all those guys who trek through the woods with a guy behind them in ghillie suit to produce a TEEVEE show.

It must be a wild and wacky experience to pull all that together.

Best regards,

Drat, just as I suspected it will take three dozen steps to make this work. I will try again tomorrow. Probably should not even have brought it up.

Not looking good. It is a "read only" .vob file whatever that is.

I can click on it and it will play in Classic Media Player (the one with all the file commands  in Italian or something) but I can not click on anything to get it into the upload window slot.

I may have to take it to some other computer and see if I can change the format and save it to CD or something.

Me and my big mouth. And no I have NOT downloaded Flashplayer 9.

Best regards.
