Don't mention snow.
We have had very rapid melting of the 5 FEET of snow we received this winter, the Red River is expected to crest at 43 feet (flood stage starts at 18 feet) - and they built the local temporary dikes to only cover the predicted crest of 41 feet. So now it's back to the drawing board. Melt water is spreading across the fields - driving down the back roads is like rolling across a causeway with nothing but water in either direction. and that is not flood, only snow melt.
On top of that, we got a blizzard Tuesday, another 5-8" and temps are in the teens at night, twenties during the day. At least MB has hills for the water to run down. It is flat here so it spreads
fast! So now the water is freezing back up.
So no more talk of snow . . .

Prayers for people in Fargo, Moorhead and suburbs would be appropriate.
PS: My house is safe and dry for now. the local little river (15 miles from the Red) has crested and the town's dikes and levees have all held.
