Tea Party Cancelled - by the Gov't
« on: March 28, 2009, 03:52:21 PM »
Did you guys hear about the Tea Party in Coral Gables, Fl that was cancelled by the government because they were afraid too many people would show up???

Of course my take was to the point:

This is a protest - you don't ask permission!!!! You just do it! What a bunch of ????? Do you think protestors of the past were cowed by those they chose to protest? This is government at it's worst. They should immediately assemble to protest the cancellation of the protest - without any asking permission!!! Grow a pair for a change people!!!!!!!!!

This is part of the problem we face today - no one is willing to stand up, it may be uncomfortable for them. Gee, I bet it was no problem for our founding fathers. Or maybe they just had some balls!

And yet another mark of shame for my beloved state. Although, seeing as it was coral gables, it might have interferred with the afternon polo match. Still and all, damn sad.

Coral Gables has turned into the San Fran of the East Coast.  Too many New York & New Englanders!

I'm still sending my teabag to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave April 1st.

Rumor has a tea party in Biscayne Bay coming soon, but I'll have to confirm this with friends in "low" places,... 8)
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

New Englanders? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that where the original one was held?

You obviously have never been to Mass or Ca. Some states have have FAR more than their fair share. NY, NJ and Illinois come to mind as well.

Protest without the permits or what ever, last time I checked it was called civil disobedience, and last time I checked it was a good thing.  You Florida folks get out there anyway, I don't care if you got to fight of the riot police with volleys of oranges.  This move by the government is flat out unconstitutional, not that it means sh$% to politicians.  You know what you need down there?  You need to take the mooring lines off your boats, tie them to your pickup trucks, and run those corrupt tyrannical politicians up the nearest street light, Mussolini style, so they can think about what they've done.  Maybe that'll give you a chance to put those rotten oranges in you back yards to use.

P.S.  I was going to put one of those angry faces at the end of my post, but their isn't one mad enough.

Tom,  I agree with you. It's hard to believe how far out of kilter this country has become. This is not what our forefather's wanted or intended! >:(
