Since when is it a crime to carry cash?  I suppose it WILL be at some point, since limiting transactions to electronic transfers will leave a trail that the nanny state can follow to determine who needs re-education based upon their purchases.

Gripes my ass to see government bullies making it up as they go, no limits on their power, just grab people, snoop into their personal effects, assume guilt if they have anything the agents can twist with their paranoid little minds into a questionable possession.
 It's beyond their marginal mini IQ scope to imagine somebody just sold a bunch of literature for cash; in their bully club only criminals would have cash. The rest of us are supposed to buy on credit with all transactions recorded and monitored by Big Bro.

Hopefully The X-ray machines that are used at the airports are NOT well shielded… exposing the TSA employees to levels of radiation that will render them “Unable to Reproduce”

Think of it as “Natural Selection at Work” or as I like to call it, “Skimming the Skum off the Top of the Gene Pool”

Just went throught the airports on my way to meet grandbaby. In Philly airport, while you wind your way back and forth to get to the screening they have big monitors with a Disney like TSA employee telling you "WHY" they do what they do and how safe we all are for their efforts.
Then I notice that one of the women working the metal detectors is wearing Muslim headgear. So I'm taking my shoes and belt off and having my belongings searched while a muslim checks me through the security process. Just plain sick.

Back in the 1990's when the government got all jacked up about drugs (for the Nth time) the Feds passed a seizure law on money. If you are stopped and have cash on you while traveling, the local police can seize that as prima facia evidence of intent to engage in drug activities. Some departments (I believe in a couple of southern airports) got exposed because they were siezing cash from travelers and paying for department excursions to resorts. There are hundreds of these stories of folks having their funds (if not life savings) stolen by police LEGALLY. Just google "traveler cash seizure" or "asset seizure". Here's one story...

I think these bozos (no insult to clowns intended) are doing a bit of "proactive" policing.

This come from one of three sources.

1) FNG wants to make the big bust and questions everybody about everything. Where are you going? Where have you been? Why do you have on brown shoes? Why are you driving while black? Sooner or later someone calls and complains about harassment.

2) Badge Happy jerks. Dealling with one is bad but a pack of them are like high school bullies. They need to be shown the door.

3) Some manager says you must conduct 5 interviews a day, 7 traffic stops a shift, have 10 contacts per fortnight. The manager needs numbers for a weeky spreadsheet or he/she will not get a good review form their boss. In this case the LEO's go through the motions as quickly as possible and are generally demoralized by the whole affair.

The young gentleman did the right thing. Polite but firm. He was more proffesional than the TSA dweebs and LEO.

If you don't mind missing your plane, try these helpful hints.

Ask who to contact at Internal Affairs or Profesional Standards to file a complaint. That just let's them know they are in for the same treatment from their own team.  Never a fun time.

Decline to go down town. Make them arrest you. If they don't have anything to charge you with they will huff and puff but let you go.
If they charge you with hindering, sue the pants off of the agency.

Even worse is sitting on a plane in Minneapolis and watching the mooslims on the tarmac putting stuff into the belly of your plane. Not a good feeling.

My mother who is a grand and great grand mother was pawed over by a muslim witch at DIA several years ago, sure let the enemy do your security for you. Thank you ex-president Bush.
