I use a Blackhawk 3 Day Assault Bag loaded with goodies. This contains water, first aid and a survival kit. It also includes spare mags for my Glocks. This is just set up for disaster preparedness. The rifles and shotguns remain in the safe and aren't going anywhere unless a F-3 or higher tornado has a direct hit on my home.

Ping brings up a SUPER important point.  I hope everybody here enjoys being alive enough to keep a survival pack like he talks about!  I keep one in each car at all times and found use for them more than once (saved me from loosing a finger one time).

If you dont have one make it today!  Dont procrastinate.  When you or someone you care about needs it how would you feel knowing you could have easily helped but now can do nothing?

NOT picking on Ping here!  But when the time comes a .22 pistol is better than the FAL, Glock, M1 or anything else everyone has at home!!!  Were you at home when 9/11 happened?  Anyone???  That gun locked up at home wasnt doing you much good was it?

Every state has different laws on how you can carry.  DONT break them!  But be safe. ;)

Actually I was. (2nd shift) The first I heard of it was my alarm clock radio, I thought they were talking about the earlier bombing, but I couldn't figure out why so I turned on the TV.

I was home, until I remembered my buddy, who owns a gun shop, was in montana hunting.  So I went to his shop to help out, things got kinda busy for awhile.

I'll BET!  A banner day in sales for sure!

It took me 4.5 hours to get home from what was normally a 1.2 hour drive.  Listening to the radio the whole time wondering what was going to be their next move...  Luckely for us all, they really didnt have one!

I was at work and saw the second plane hit. I could not believe my eyes.

Maybe someone can start a new thread on bug out bags, voodoo bags, or survival bags so we can get a mix of ideas??? Badgers??? ;)

PS: I live in the city so a .22 would be of no use to me. There are a few squirrels and fewer rabbits. The reason for my extra ammo would be for personal defense.

Every city I've ever seen has squirrels.  Just get the P22 and screw a suppressor on it!  FUN!!!!  ;D

Pigeons to!

I have my C-Mag topped off at 100 rounds. My other mags are all unloaded but I have 240 rounds in stripper clips in a bag that was made to hold cassette tapes. I need to get some more clips so I can load all my mags from them. I have some army surplus web gear to hold my mags and some basic survival gear in the butt-pack. It wouldn't take long to fill my canteens and get it all together.

As far as shooting squirrels in the city goes, my brother said city squirrels don't taste like the squirrels that live in the woods. I guess the garbage they eat makes them taste bad.

Remington 77, .177 Cal. Air Rifle with Crosman Pointed Pellets. Silent but deadly. But could get in trouble if the neighbors called the police. Hmmm, I think I just mentioned a new addition to my kit!!!!
