Professor Jacobs did make a valid point that the Brady Bill was limited that it just stopped criminals with felony backgrounds from purchasing a firearm. But that does not stop the capability of the criminal to obtain a firearm through criminal means. Another point he made was the fact that there are too many guns out there. They will never be able to completely stop gun violence. Times have changed and people are getting desperate.  It is unfortunate all the events that have taken place over the last six weeks with innocent people and law enforcment getting gunned down. The incidents with the LE Officers would not have been changed had there been someone with a CCW present. (Would you get involved with a police action shooting?) The other incidents could have been altered had someone been present and competent with a CCW and armed. Not sure if you know people who have CCW's and don't carry, but this really ticks me off. You never know when you are going to be caught up in a situation that may turn volatile in a heartbeat. I personally just try to be prepared and stay alert while out and about. I just try to have fun, live life, be armed, responsible and well trained.  8)

Another false premise. Statistics prove that in the presence of CCW death tolls are lower. The correct statement is "If some one else had a gun FEWER people would have died". All mass killings end with the death or disabling of the BG. If some law abiding citizen with a .45 hastens that event the number of injuries is going to be lower than if not.
Don't you THINK ? Or do you just spout BS from habit ?
Oh my god! Tom I almost pissed my pants laughing!!

Maybe, maybe not.  Could vs should applys.  Drawing your weapon is not always the best corse of action.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

I wonder why ABC didn't mention the opposing side of Brady? I wonder why ABC didn't elude to the many positives of owning a gun. Far more people are killed by cars every year. Why are they not more concerned about cars killing so many more people every year?...........    Why ...?  . ..  One sided - media.. that's why.  Igonorance Arrogance is abundant in the media.

There, I fixed it for you.

This is a great story on ABCs coverage this weekend and this morning of guns and the shootings. Too long to just copy so take a look at the story and read the transcript of this mornings coverage on GMA with David Muir and Diane Sawyer. I am sure this Fridays Special will be a terribly one sided report.

What I don't understand is the mentality that someone with a gun would not stop the shooter in the mall...

what the hell do they think a cop is?

I'm not sure if you all caught this, but professor Jacobs suggested that some "mechanisms" could be put in place that would allow citizens to alert police before something like this happened.

Some possibilities: How about a database that allowed law enforcement to comb your medical records, internet traffic, e-mail and voice communications that would suggest to them to a possible attack imminent- all without a warrant? Or how about your neighbors reporting you to the police because they don't like the way you keep your yard? Of course every effort would be made to protect your privacy and they would ensure that none of us would be detained unless there was a "very good reason."

Be vigilant.....

But gun control works...
"Never hold in a fart. They travel up your spine into your brain and that's where crappy ideas come from..."

"I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent."
