CMMG Immortal Magazines
« on: April 08, 2009, 12:20:12 AM »
I've been reading up on the CMMG Immortal Magazines and I have to say their sales pitch makes them sound fantastic.  Before I go off and order a slew of them, I was wondering if anyone who has used them could tell me if they live up to their excellent description?

This is a DEEPLY STUPID WEAPON on their site!  .223 with that stumpy barrel?  Maybe its a powersoft pellet gun and somebody just threw cases at him in retaliation to his assult. :-\

I think it looks like a pretty handy little thing, but I doubt they're very reliable. Still, wouldn't want one pointed at me...

I want one of those Vltor Clubfoot stocks for my M4.  Anyone have any experience with them?  It's either that or an LMT SOPMOD stock...tough decision.

.223 with that barrel length.  I'm guessing the bullets start tumbleing wildly a few feet out of the barrel.  Not much for accuracy (.223's only strong point other than ammo cost being low).

Does look pretty sporty if you didnt know what it was!

Might make a good gun for carrying on an ATV.....short and out of the way.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, why would you want a carbine in a pistol calibre that negates all the potential advantages of a carbine, such as longer barrel, greater pessure tolerances etc.? The same holds true in reverse. What possible advantage do you get in a sub 16" barrel M-4 that wouldn't be compensated for by the extended burn time, stabalization etc. of the longer barrel? Its not like you're going to stick the thing in your pocket. I don't even know if the .556 was geared for short barrels. It was designed as a RIFLE round. If you want high cap out of a hand gun buy a glock 17 (availble now on this board for just $350 with free oriental bamboo steamer) and a 33rd mag. If you want an assaualt carbine there are many to choose from. Why buy this wierdness and have to put up with all the ATF BS that goes with owning a "short barreled rifle" over this abortion? Buy a 16" M-4 or get a glock with a high cap. Ths just screams "tacitcool bs" to me.

It could be said that the thing would be good for clearing a house.  But .223?  Really??  I guess you could introduce it to your plinking friends saying "It's just so cute I couldnt help myself!" ;D ;D
