Having read the Uniform Code of Military Justice at least once....

No soldier, airman, sailor or marine is required to follow an ILLEGAL order!

Some troops, dedicated to the oath they took to Defend and Protect...etc. will not obey if they take that oath literally.

If you resist an order stating that you think its illegal and later are proven wrong.  Guess what...  Either way you KNOW your carreer is OVER as soon as you do it.  A sacrifice nobody I ever met in the service would have made so some guy they dont even know can keep a "threat"!

If you choose to think the topic (I didnt start) is all a joke.  Thats cool with me!  Freedom of speech and thought!  And anybody here getting arrested one day has no effect on my future.  Just trying to open minds.   Best wishes to everyone in this country regardless of its future .

On the other hand in a "total collapse" situation troops will stay with their unit most likely regardless of any conflict with their beliefs for the simple reason of safety in numbers and comfort with a familiar chain of command.

+1 on troops following the herd.  They'd be foolish if they didnt in that situation (just my thoughts having been in conflict with crap that I saw happening when I was in Iraq).

The conflict you mention is troops being tried by an opossing government though.  Nobody that followed orders durring Katrina will get any grief from our government.

Just saw Discovery channel say that the latest projections now say by 2012 the antarctic ice caps will be gone.  With that water added to the oceans Florida is done for along with much of the east coast, and a bunch of other places...  Could that cause it???

The polar ice expands and contracts, Scientists are screaming about the ice receding in Greenland, but it is only now beginning to uncover settlements founded by the Vikings then covered by ADVANCING ice. these a$$holes are trying to predict thousand + year cycles with 150 years of information.

If the people could just perceive that there are people who exist that will blatantly lie, steal from others, and turn their head when honest men are sacrificed....then maybe they would not elect SOB's like that to office.  Sheep, being what they are, are quite mindless when fed and cared for.

They have been trying to pound that idea into men's heads since ancient Greece or earlier. 4,000 years and the only ones who got it were the Founding Fathers, but that "integrity thing" was just a passing fad and unlike the hoola hoop and mini skirt, I don't expect it to make a come back.

I know we are on different ground here, but without a move from God back to Him...there will be no comeback.  These things must necessarily come to pass.
